  1. I'm shocked!!! No Battery, No Felony, No Assault, No Armed Robbery, No Gambling!??? No wonder he's a third stringer.
  2. Looks to be a promising event. Hancock, Haynes, Branford, Geri Allen, Lovano etc... on Friday 9/28 at Symphony Hall and a day of free concerts Saturday 9/29 w/ Hutcherson, Tolliver Big Band, Herwig latins Miles, Mike Stern and on... Beantown Jazz Schedule
  3. Direct quote from Nancy Franklin's New Yorker review: "...a nagging, peskily ever-present sound-track by Wynton Marsalis..." now let's not forget Norah! and I heard her father complaining that the project did not pay enough attention to our sitar weilding allies in the great battles of Sumatra.
  4. That apology had more to do with the shareholders than anything. Stock bumped back up to pre recall level after. Quite embarrassing that licensors like Disney are now running their own testing now rather than leave it to the nearly biggest toy maker. The design flaw they "apologized" for was regarding the magnets as stated and Mattel was fully responsible for that gaff and had recalled many of those products about eight months back but it virtually went un-noticed. The lead issue was NO design flaw and certainly that factory boss that hung himself took a more "eastern" approach to the shame. I wonder how the factory workers wearing state of the art swimmer's nose plugs while spraying and tampo printing are feeling? "mmm, hey this new brighter white they found in the shed is yummmy!"
  5. That must have been the same textbook company, well if the text book in and of itself could/should have anything to do with, that made me flunk out of my third semester organic chemistry class and forced me to change my major (which unfortunately lead to me not meeting a really hot lab assistant).
  6. I think OJ should've gone the more passive aggressive route.
  7. Just me and that Cerf guy who created the internet share first names - but he shortens his.
  8. That's a great set list. Two hours plus is how it should be. Thought I'd post again a shot I made from the last time I saw him.
  9. hopefully you still have his address and Halloween is right around the corner!
  10. Got 'em all and plan to play them - tonight, a favorite Ethiopian restaurant is in the plans! (Man, I wish I were at Frankfurt's Lalibela restaurant!) So what might be your most recommended amongst those? I've been listening to some smatterings from emusic (before I knew of the recent Jarmusch popularity/craze of the genre). I like that arabic scaling with some funk in the bag.
  11. and damn if I didn't hear "... Lay It In The Cut" on some commercial for maybe household goods or somethin' this past weekend.
  12. Eugene Blacknell! "Gettin' Down" and damn greazzy! just sampled a bit but runs from stone dirty funk to bar honkin' to chicken blues to and then some. put some extra vinegar in the sauce.
  13. just had to share ... it's drivin me mad, it's makin me crazy!
  14. I recall that - Zoltan / brian123... on eBay - had a copy of that and other s released that same week up for auction that he advertised here a couple weeks back. You might try to contact him off board? But I believe his price was $25 for starters and then $6 plus for shipping, so already beyond the budget.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsvFu750VQ4 Actually, I don't mind them in small doses. What's really cool is they quote a little bit of Steve Miller's "Jungle Love" in that piece.
  16. and now another ... Revisited Instrumentals
  17. Thanks for the tip, Chris. Never knew of this one. YouTubed my way thru some of that and will try to watch the whole deal. Wow! Since he only "eats" once in the episode I wonder if it will ever see the rerun light of day? More Frontline than foodie.
  18. I can only envision Ither of those to 'Spy vs Spy' as the soundtrack - "Mob Job", maybe, but makes a bit more interesting imagery than some Kip Hanrahanrahan thru the walls. Languid squamousilliciousness a tough sell with the former. I sure do wish I had seen them Spy gigs w/ Sanborn, Berne and Zorn fronting two basses and Baron and Vachter going like a Harley parade. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mU-iR7kokE8 closest i could find.
  19. no no no ... you gotta go out and grab that new iTouch version that WiFis synchromatically to what's being played over the din of high pitched foam steaming when you go into StarBucks to take a pee. Just check this handy video and try not to let the afternoon's espresso rage drive you into wanting to reach into the screen and rub poi in this guy's hair!
