Man with the Golden Arm replied to BERIGAN's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
There was a Japanese import, non bootleg to boot I believe, out for a spit on LaserDisc. Many years ago I saw it at a place called Lazer Craze in Boston and should have grabbed it. FWIW my kids don't like it when I read them the story in the proper vernacular. -
"right click and download linked file" on the musical notes to the left of the songs ... just don't tell anybody. and correct me if I'm wrong but "Cryin'" has gotta be ChiChi.

Dang ! I forgot. Track #1! "Cruesale-U-Whale" ... (probably only the second time in BFT history that a cut has alluded to the monster of the deep.) go here for now and you're in heaven. load 'em up baby. "Bill Beau Trio: Live at the Blueport Lounge" 1958. long ago this was posted on the board courtesy of that rind grazing on kilobytes. i played this stuff over and over ... i knew not why but it just grabbed me with it's grit and bounce

Jews in Hell: Radical Jewish Acculturation

brown shirted radicals who march in the spring... -
stumbled across this ... had heard of one of the compilers Manu Boubli somewhere ... across the board kind of acid jazz, rare groove, break beats etc but got a good beat and just a smidge of the Roxbury Bros. you can download the 96K list streams

How can we lobby to get Rare Grooves back?
Man with the Golden Arm replied to Soul Stream's topic in Re-issues
I've never heard "Done it again". MG I've got bits and pieces of 'Done It Again' - worthwhile album and along w/ all those Solid States should see the light. A bit like Don Cunningham in that the originals on the LP are a bit more exotic than groove oriented. I always see Lytle getting short verse from anything I've read but I completely love the energy he puts into just about everything I've heard ... cheese or not. -
Which Amazon US seller to use?
Man with the Golden Arm replied to The Magnificent Goldberg's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I'll second Newbury! While I'm up the road apeice from one I have also ordered online via Amazon and gotten the merchandise in two days max. At the least it shows they are paying attention. edit: i guess that's a third! -
Oh please, go on. I can tell ya dig her. Her album was released here, what, seven months after the UK? My kid wanted me to check her out and I have listened to her and find it all a bit of a hoot ... not so much my cupotea but anyone who puts up "The Chief" from Fess right after the hit single intro on a debut album has either some smarts somewhere or a decent producer. I gather she's rather a stirrer of chit than a real talent in the end, eh.

more Winehouse: check the live deal ... a bit more believable ... dig that little Shangri La thing. the cut's a good minute too long, could've used a solo for spice. i think she has to pee. another Tina tip w/ Weller. looked at some other vids on YouTube. this gal's gonna end up on the loo floor mighty soon. now what about that Lily Allen!!!
