Just sold our newest car, a 1979 Lincoln Mark V, to a friend. He had a 97 T-Bird, and the plastic intake had cracked twice, so he wanted an older car that was a bit more reliable. (All the cars in the photo taken way back in 2004 have been sold, a friend after hearing I sold the Mark said I go thru cars like he does underwear....I said, the ladies must love that fact)

Amazing to me, that she was only 78. R.I.P. Coretta Scott King dead at 78 By MARIA SAPORTA, MAE GENTRY The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Published on: 01/31/06 Coretta Scott King, the widow of Martin Luther King Jr., has died. The 78-year-old Mrs. King died at a holistic hospital in Rosarito Beach, Mexico, 16 miles south of San Diego, said her sister, Edythe Scott Bagley. "I was told that she slept away," said Bagley, 81, of Cheney, Pa. "It's comforting. She's at peace now." A spokesman at Hospital Santa Monica in Rosarito Beach confirmed Mrs. King had died at the center. He could not say when she had checked in. The center's website says it treats "chronic degenerative diseases considered incurable by the orthodox medical profession." "It is very difficult for me right now," said Christine King Farris, the sister-in-law of Coretta Scott King. "She was my sister." Farris said the family is sorting out details. "We will bring her back here," Farris said. Former United Nations ambassador Andrew Young, a family friend and former King aide, said Mrs. King was found dead by her daughter, Bernice. "It seemed as though she was resting when she passed away. Bernice thought she had had a rather difficult day yesterday and felt like she needed her rest. It wasn't until early this morning that she [bernice] went to check on her and saw she had passed away," he said. As tributes from the world poured in, a crowd formed at the King Center on Auburn Avenue in Atlanta. Many brought flowers and placed them at the reflecting pool near Dr. King's tomb. By late-morning, the crowd of mourners at the King Center had grown to about 100. Among the mourners was a weeping Mildred Neal, the single mother of an 11-year-old son who said she wanted to "pay my respects to her strength, her courage." Jesse Ehnert, a consultant from Atlanta, brought his 6-month-old daughter, Melia, snuggly bundled in a yellow blanket in a baby carriage. "I wanted to pay my respects to what she and Dr. King accomplished," he said. Among those who brought flowers was Vernon Jones, DeKalb County chief executive officer. "The angels came to take her home," Jones said. "I could not be what I am today without the legacy of Coretta Scott King." As word began to spread shortly after 7 a.m., the sad duty of bringing the American flag at the King Center fell to security guard Richard Cheatham. He set the flag at half-staff about 7:30. "It's just sad to see her gone," said Cheatham. Gov. Sonnny Perdue ordered flags at all state facililties lowered to half-staff until sunset on the day of Mrs. King's funeral. The service has not yet been scheduled. Coretta Scott King was one of the most influential civil rights leaders of our time," said Perdue. "While her husband was the public face of the civil rights movement, no person is that successful without strong support at home. Mary and I mourn the passing of this dynamic leader." Last spring, Coretta King was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, which causes the heart to quiver instead of beat regularly. The condition led to a major stroke and a minor heart attack on Aug. 16. She was trying to recover from the stroke, which impaired her right side and speech, at the time of her death. Gov. Sonny Perdue ordered flags on all state buildings and grounds at half-staff in memory of Mrs. King. The flags will remain at half staff until sunset the night of her funeral. "Coretta Scott King was one of the most influential civil rights leaders of our time," said Perdue. Mrs. King was a gracious and kind woman whose calm, measured words rose above the din of political rhetoric. For decades, she proudly bore the torch of her husband's legacy. Now she has passed it on to a new generation to keep the dream alive. Mary and I mourn the passing of this dynamic leader." "It so significant that we would lose another giant at the heels of losing Ms. Rosa Parks," said the Rev. Harold Middlebrooks, a Knoxville, Tenn., preacher who lived with members of the King family during the Rev. King's student days at Morehouse College and as a civil rights worker. "Both of them could not be out there on the front lines," he said. "Somebody had to rear the children. That was her role. She saw that that was her role and she did it. At the same time, she was very supportive of her husband." "I am very saddened by the suddenness of Mrs. King's death," said Evelyn Lowery, president of SCLC/WOMEN. "I am sure that she is much relieved, where she is now. Her last days were not that pleasant. Lowery said she had seen Mrs. King over the Christmas holidays. The world saw her for the last time in January, when she made a surprise appearance at the King Salute to Greatness dinner. "She looked so radiant and beautiful. We just hugged and hugged when we saw each other. She couldn't speak, but we were able to communicate," Lowery said. "She was such a strong person. Such a dignified person committed to the movement. She was a leader in her own right." The Rev. Al Sharpton, a family friend, called Mrs. King's death a "monumental" loss. " For those of us that were too young to get to know Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. very well, we got to know Coretta Scott King as a compassionate, caring, yet firm matriarch of the movement for justice. She was kind and gentle with impeccable grace and dignity, yet firm and strong and immovable under issues that she and her husband committed their lives to," said Sharpton. During the battle to desegregate the South, Coretta Scott King walked alongside her husband. After he was assassinated in April 1968, she stepped out of his shadow and became an internationally respected advocate of justice, peace and human rights. She worked tirelessly to spread her husband's message of fighting for equality through nonviolent struggle. Owen Lawson, a manager for Cardinal Health Systems, came to the King Center after hearing the news. He stood for a few moments in silent meditation at the reflecting pool. "It's not a sad day, not really," said Lawson, a 1992 graduate of Morehouse College. "It's a day to remember Mrs. King and Dr. King and all that they accomplished." Nickeya Weathers, 29, lives around the corner from the King Center on Auburn Avenue. "I was shocked," Weathers said. "Everybody thought she would get better." Weathers started crying while standing next to the reflection pool at the center. "I feel like this was everybody's mother in the fact that her family was so important," she said. "It's just sad." Said John Evans, who was taking a break from his job at the Parkview Manor Nursing and Rehab Center across Auburn Avenue from the King Center: "Boy, it's really a hurting feeling. My joy just went down when I heard about it because she was such a wonderful person for this community." Four days after the Nobel Peace Prize winner was killed in Memphis, Coretta Scott King delivered a speech in which she declared, "We must carry on because this is the way he would have wanted it to have been. ... We are going to continue his work." She spent the next 37 years doing just that. — Staff writers Add Seymour, Bill Montgomery and Ernie Suggs contributed to this report. http://www.ajc.com/news/content/metro/atla...s/0131king.html

But the address the link actually goes to is... http://80.154.19.133/www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscrcmd_login.php which, of course, has nothing to do with Paypal. Perhaps Claude or one of the other computer experts can answer this, but besides the fact thes scammers seem to have websites far overseas, why can't companies like Paypal, etc find in searches sites that have their name in a web address, why do we have to bring them to the companie's attention? I have gotten emails from just about every bank known to man, including one claiming to be from the federal credit union...you would think this criminals would worry about who they claimed to represent, but I guess not....

Here's a "disc" to play while resting your back!

No Jim, it doesn't sound good! Is the ice in plastic, or is the ice cube right on the skin??? As you may recall, I have been having terrible back trouble since before Christmas, and I did find if I used those gel ice packs(Did you get one?) enough, I didn't even need a shirt between the pack and my back, and I was laying on them, so you can build up a tolerance to cold, for sure. But, as bad as my back has been(I feel like electricity is going thru my left leg at times, I walk funny , and an MRI showed another Ruptured disc) I can always feel the cold equally. Sounds like you should have it checked out. Did you ever have an MRI? Are you doing any exercises to strenthen your back, or are you hoping the problem will just go away?

Not everyone is thrilled at the prospect. .... Koppel's pretty middle-of-the-road. So is NPR... : it's old-school journalism. I was heartened by the audience's response when Koppel appeared on The Daily Show; when Jon Stewart asked Koppel if there were any good, reliable news sources left now that network news was going down the drain, Koppel said, "Well, I think NPR--" and was interrupted by a tremendous cheer from the audience. Well, if the "middle of the road" audience that watches the Daily show likes NPR, that proves NPR is middle of the road! -

I just saw a story on the local station....Something not mentioned in the story below was that she saw man say to the little girl, are you looking for a new Mommy?? Two jailed over alleged sexual abuse The Associated Press EVERGREEN -- A 58-year-old man and 40-year-old woman are in police custody and the possible sexual abuse of a toddler and a teenage boy is being investigated thanks to the diligence of an Atlanta woman who pressed authorities to look into the case. District Attorney Tommy Chapman said the man identified himself as Jack Wiley and was charged Friday with failing to register as a sex offender, and the woman, who said her name was Glenna Faye Marshall, was charged with providing false information. Chapman said both had given investigators several false names. "We do not know at this time the true identities of either of these people," Chapman said. He said one of the names the man gave authorities was that of a sex offender. The two are possibly father and daughter and were arrested after Tracie Lee Dean of Atlanta saw a 3-year-old girl alone in an Evergreen convenience store on Jan. 15, Chapman said. Dean told the Mobile Register she became suspicious and was compelled to act after she saw the child's behavior and the vacant look in her eyes. Chapman said Dean's persistence led to the discovery of a suspected case of child abuse described as one of the most severe in the county. "We believe the 17-year-old boy is a victim of sexual abuse," he said, "and a doctor who examined the 3-year-old girl said there was evidence she was repeatedly raped." Dean copied the license plate number on the man's older Suburban as he left the store with the girl, but a 911 dispatcher told her everything checked out with the car. Haunted by the girls' eyes, Dean did some Internet checking for missing and exploited children and found a girl in Ohio that resembled the child. She called Ohio authorities and a national hot line for missing children before finally contacting the detective working the Ohio case, but Dean felt no one was taking her seriously. "I called the John Walsh show ("America's Most Wanted"), "Crimestoppers" and finally I had the tag run," she said. "It came back to the 2001 Honda. It didn't check out. On Thursday, I called the Alabama Bureau of Investigation, and asked if they could tell me who responded to the 911 call. I asked them to look at the store's videotape. They said they needed a court order. I have no doubt in my mind why we have so many missing and exploited children in this country." Dean then took matters into her own hands, calling the store and driving back to Evergreen Thursday with some friends. She was looking at the security video when Evergreen officer Brian Davis walked in by chance. He wrote a report and started looking for the girl and man. Davis found the man living with the woman and two children in a squalid home along a remote stretch of U.S. 84, Chapman said. He said the children both appear to be severely traumatized and are in state custody. Dean said she just knew something was wrong that day in the store. "I cried when I left there that Sunday," she said. "I'm crying right now just thinking of it. I had to go through hell before anyone would listen to me. I thought I was going crazy. I'm just glad she's safe." http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/apps/p.../601260336/1009

Ghost, I really don't think that's such a hot idea. Does Dick Gregory look healthy to you??? Seriously, years and years ago I took a nutrition class, and I know that there were problems once you went past 24 hours without food, some of which are addressed in the article below...I know you aren't doing this for weight loss reasons, but it still explains what happens to the body. It doesn't mention it here, but I recall there being some problem with the prduction of fluids your eyes need when fasting....Maren??? Docs on the board??? http://www.ediets.com/news/article.cfm/article_id,5957

Hey, watch it buddy!!! (you just described me to a tee) DOB:3/3/70 With age comes wisdom, my friend, and since I'm a full day older than you, I can honestly say that I've forgotten the question and am too lazy to go back to the first page and ... oh, gotta run, my CD just finished burning and I wanna see if it turned out okay! DOB: 3/2/70 (you just described me to a tee) Hey John, I think he's onto something here! Homer Simpson is clearly a Pisces...from the classic Scientology take-off episode, The Joy of Sect....After trying in vain to brainwash Homer with a film(Everyone else seeing the film was).... Homer: Wait, I'm confused about the movie... so the cops knew internal affairs were setting them up? Man: What are you talking about? There's nothing like that in there! Homer: Well, you see, when I get bored, I make up my own movie. I have a very short attention span. Lady: But our point is very simple, you see when... Homer running out the door: Oh look! A bird! I LOVE cars, but damn!!! The average price they are selling for today is $105,000!!! How could you even drive a car that cost that much??? How could you pay that much in the first place????? I fear that someday soon, most who would want to will never be able to experience driving a nice older car. If you care to see how very many people have money to burn on overpriced autos... http://www.barrett-jackson.com/auctionresu...bj06results.asp

Don't know how I missed hearing that it was coming out, either. They are corny as hell, and the special effects range from terrible to really good(That shot of the many levels of the underground facility!!! ) but they are still a lot of fun, IMHO....fairly recently, they ran them on the "action" channel, whichever one that is...but it sounds like they have been restored... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BOH8Z...0-9667929?n=130 Post #666!!!!!

I'm going to take a wild stab at it...are you an overachiever??? A perfectionist to boot??? Sounds like you have waaay too many irons in the fire. WAAAY too many. You are a nice guy, and probably can't say no to people. People think hell, he ain't got no kids, he's got loads of free time! And don't believe those people have more on their plate than you do, they either are getting by on 3 hours sleep, are on Meth, or both! Seriously, I'm sure you will tell me if I'm way off base, but would you say that there was a similar pattern back in your (pre-College)school days? Pretty active in after school activities? Was your whole day planned out? You don't have to be organized, to be busy, in fact, the less organized..... I saw the BFT Thread late, and I knew, just knew that you wanted to do a really special presentation, and that was going to be one reason why it was so late, I bet you spent hours on it, correct??? And that is part of the problem, being really anal. I know I can waste hours, trying to make something just right. I remember as a kid working on a metal model car(a 50's T-bird), and expecting it to have a perfect paint job, from a can...It was almost perfect, but I had to keep messing with it....till I got too much paint on it, and screwed it up completely. I used to have to have all my beta tapes in perfect alpha order, by title, within genre, then actors within the genre, and of course, I couldn't have a Sony Tape in a Maxell box either! I spent hours, and hours organizing things that really weren't that important. Car magazines, lp's, comic books, you name it...but, did I have the time to balance my checkbook? Nah!!! I knew what was really important. I have learned to let go of some of my pet peeves, sony tapes can now go in an RCA box, my VHS tapes are in no particular order...my cds...well, they are in excellent order, but that is something really important! I am tired, so to finish this thought, there are many books on organizing one's life, and if you haven't checked them out yet, do it! That, and fake a hearing loss at church, or tell them that you have a new home based job that is really eating up time, and can't be involved in all those Church activities for awhile..... HMMM, you ain't one of them Pisces are ya??? They are just born lazy, have short attention spans, are unfocused, and won't balance a checkbook for love nor money(or lack thereof) What interests you, is always going to be a higher priority, than the things you HAVE to do, they can always be put off.... -
What are you in Chicken years?
