Big Al, please! This is a Red Sox/Yankee thread! Really, its great! Kenny Rogers has an e.r.a. of 1.69!!!! Yikes! Chan Ho Park is 4 and 1!!! Double Yikes!!! A quick check at espn shows that Mark Teixeira leads the team with an 30 R.B.I.'s which ain't that many for that team. (Your beloved A-Rod has what, 49?) Wait til they really start to cook.

Did you get a response from Ebay yet? They usually send automated emails right back to you saying they will work on it, then one saying that it was a spoof. Since this was a paypal email though, it would probably be better to forward it to spoof@paypal.com They keep trying to make them seem more like legit emails all the time, but the spoofers never have your handle on ebay or your name. Well should say almost never, one did have my name, but that has happened only once in about 500 fake emails.... Has anyone said on this thread.... FUCK PHISHING!!!!!

The members from England do you agree with this?
BERIGAN replied to Hardbopjazz's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
back when England had a sense of humor Basil: "Don't mention the war. I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it. So it's all forgotten now and let's hear no more about it. So that's two egg mayonnaise, a prawn Goebbels, a Herman Goering and four Colditz salads....no, wait a minute...I got confused because everyone keeps mentioning the war." German: "Will you stop mentioning the war?" Basil: " You started it." German: " We did not start it." Basil: " Yes you did, you invaded Poland..." -
Man! You have a sense of humor, how can that be??? with great lines such as.... Dracula: I'm going out for a bite to drink. Dracula: Children of the night, shut up! Ok, a flawed film for sure, but very 70's and Richard Benjamin's best role. I mean Come on, flashing Dracula his Jewish star, trying to kill him with a silver bullet in the heart , an Oscar worthy performance for sure!

Is there a new Star Wars movie coming out?
BERIGAN replied to Jim Alfredson's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Yeah, but that still doesn't make it any less violent for a 9 year old to see....and clearly the marketing is to little kids as well. ← My bad, marketing to kids obligates parents to take their kids to see it. ← Imagine you being 9 years old, and told by your parents you can't see it!!!! -

Very interesting interview. Artie seemed to say nastier things about Goodman every time he was asked about him, which to me says something bothered him about Benny more than him being "dumb" Perhaps always being compared in some way to him. Damn interviewer sure sounded dumb... Shaw rose to prominence during the big-band era, but that style never really suited him. And whereas Benny Goodman's peaches-and-cream music is unfailingly polite, Shaw's is edgy, untamed, straining into the future. Oh, she also said Billie Holiday joined Shaw's band in 1936, but I don't think she did till 1938, right???

I see what you mean about a bit creepy, like on I’m In The Mood For Love, but on the other sides were it is a bit more subtle, very nice indeed! Good find Evan!!!

How could the tune, "Hitler Had One Nut" not be a top 40 hit????

I have this one: And I assume that's the other here: Are they from the same date? I don't consider Ventura a very interesting player - he's playing a bit too much "for the crowd" and is not all that subtle... However, Bill Harris and Dave Tough are smokin' indeed! I think my want for Ventura is satisfied by this disc and the parts of the Mosaic (which, in part, are quite good - but just as with Bill Harris, I think Ventura is no match for Flip Phillips, really). I'll have to consider this second Highnote disc, though, on the strenghts of the first! Gee, thought I could easily tell you if the tracks on disc 2 were from the same date, but there are no dates on either cd, beyond the year! Tracks 1-5 are from 1947, but track 5, Dark Eyes is from a Carnagie hall concert, track 6 Broadway, is from a birdland broadcast from 1952, without Tough of course. But the first 5 tracks are very nearly as good as the tracks on the first cd. (I thought one of the cds mentioned there was enough music for 3 cds total, but can't find that in the liner notes, perhaps wishful thinking) I like Ventura a lot, but on this here board, I am in the minority.

While I won't disagree that the ladies are pleasing to the eye, I would very strongly disagree that the show is pure eye candy. Don't turn the sound down as this is one of the wittier and better written shows on TV, despite its superficially soapish themes. I agree! I haven't watched it religiously, but have caught a few shows, and the writing is MUCH better than you would expect, and the eye candy to boot? I should watch it more often, perhaps when the dvd comes out.....
