  1. Or old, my Dad doesn't seem to be a fan of them either...
  2. You are gay, deal with it.... :rsmile:
  3. Perhaps one of the computer nerds...err I mean experts, Can explain to me something that has been bugging me for awhile. Why is it that with MOST web sites addresses, you don't need to type in www first, but if I just type in mediaplay.com for example it can't find the site? Also, I scratch my head as to why my internet explorer browser will remember some sites....forever! the one shown here was one my Dad went to, oh I don't know 2 years ago???? any time I type in the letter S this comes up first...no matter how many times I toss my cookies, do disc clean up, go into temporary internet folders and clean them out as well....(In my address bar it show "scrappage bill defeated", and when I click on it, it turns into this web page which isn't even active anymore! )http://www.shadetreemechanic.com/scrappage%20bill%20defeated.htm Other sites I frequent disappear on the other hand... espn.com if I don't go to it for 3-4 days won't show up in my address bar...now, I know that espn.com address is really http://espn.go.com is it the slight change in address that keeps it from sticking?
  4. Well, I heard something very disurbing on the radio...that Halle's stunt woman....was a man! I sure hope that was a sick, twisted joke!
  5. He's been flopping around on where he would want to go. St. Louis surfaced last week as one place to consider seriously. I really don't see New York as an option for the D'Backs for the reasons you mentioned. What I don't understand is why so many "experts" keep saying the Diamondbacks should keep him...as bad as this team is right now, he isn't going to be pitching for a contender, at least next year, in AZ, and he is 40 for God's sake! Find a way to talk him into going to the Cards, or the Angels get some fine young talent...you don't build around a 40 something player....Of course, if he and Shilling could put their differences aside, man....now that would be a rotation...the one they have now, just doesn't seem like a world series winning one, does it Dan?
  6. You wouldn't like her stuff anymore???
  7. I wish I'd have known the show was going on break as well.... Not only has the guy read every book on the planet, but has a photographic memory as well! Anyone ever see Champagne for Caesar?? Is that what he is up to?? I'd link to the page, but >allmovie<won't let me!
  8. Nice read! I was afraid when I first saw her name, it meant she had died, glad that wasn't the case!
  9. Damn, what a week! R.I.P.
  10. Very sad news, but damn, played almost til the end, what more could one ask for??? R.I.P.
  11. Interesting...but the dude needs someone from that time to back him up.... And what is it with all the Paul Hatin"?
  12. I get a weekly email from Kim Komando (usually ignore) but for some reason I checked it out, and saw this... ON THE QT: COOL THINGS I PASS ALONG JUST FOR YOU --> INTERNET EXPLORER'S MARKET SHARE SLIPS The market share held by Microsoft's Internet Explorer has fallen by 1.57 percentage points, according to WebSideStory, which measures Web metrics. A survey found that 94.16 percent of surfers were using IE, down from 95.73 percent. That slippage is the first for Internet Explorer in ages. It occurred as security problems piled up for the Microsoft browser. Apparently, people are moving to Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape and Opera. Personally, I have switched to Firefox. I intend to stay with it at least until Microsoft resolves its security problems. The U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team has recommended such a switch. You can download the free Firefox at: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ In the meantime, Microsoft said it is working on a comprehensive fix for IE. It said it does not think a switch in browsers is warranted. I am sure y'all have seen Claude and others say how unsafe IE is...Claude has mentioned Opera , as have others...I use Netscape , not that crazy about it, tried Opera a few times, just didn't like it either...the cool thing about Firefox is that it looks very much like IE, you can transfer all your IE peferences as well (Download was quick, but the transferring took 30+ minutes) Well, at first it seemed a little slower, but then I realized it wouldn't have all the cookies that download a homepage quickly. Now, it seems to be quite a bit faster, and a great bonus for us is that my Mom's vision is so bad she can't read the anything on the computer anymore, might be able to with this browser, you can make the text MUCH bigger than on IE. I just now downloaded it, so I might find some bugs, but I had no problems with so far, even Allmusic was very quick in loading! Anyone else try it, or hear about problems with it? I wasn't planning to replace IE, but it looks like I just have....
  13. Quick, someone vote, both choices are stuck at 13!
  14. Oh I hate 95% of the channels BUT...there wouldn't be stupid channels like the Food Channel, Home and Garden , Outdoors channel, Speedvision or CNN (Sorry if I offended anyone with the first 4 choices!) without the bundling...it really was a brilliant idea back in the day, force all these channels no one wants in every basic package, and over time, a few people will flip by , by and by, all of the sudden..."Hey, do you watch that show about the father and son who bitch all the time while making $100,000 custom motorcycles? Just like world series of Poker on EPSN, it's must see TV! "
  15. Exactly! though they still have the money to do this shit.... we had a few truly sick freaks that would special order mags at the Borders I worked at in Duluth(North of Atlanta, but still in the south) And I had the "joy" of having co-workers show me some photos with people doing this back in the 90's, so it is old news. Seeing those photos and Penis "modification" pictures in another mag makes me wonder....wonder.....if these people just have too much free time, and not enough psychological tests done in their past....hell, I get infections from scraping my knuckles on my car, if I hooked hooks into my upper back... Though, it might be like traction and help the ol' spinal column...
  16. Brownie, I REALLY have wanted to believe that Armstrong was too smart after nearly dying of Cancer to risk drugs, but I have to admit it looks bad for him...you have posted story after story, and where theres smoke, there's fire even Lemond has been badmouthing him...Now, that doesn't mean that if the press is breaking into his hotel rooms, that is right... take a look at this photo(don't know how long it will last) does this look like a "healthy" person to anyone???
  17. What are these "problems"? He couldn't convince Christina Ricci to blow him on film....
  18. If you have to ask...
  19. time to vote! Vote for some classic dvds to see the light of day! http://turnerclassicmovies.com/dvddecision
  20. Somehow, in spite of lousy pitching, and Chipper Jones hitting around .220, the Braves are tied for first! Yes, the division is weak, and it is July, but Bobby Cox is a better manager than most think he is, perhaps the best....at least til the playoffs role along!
  21. Yep, no where near Atlanta!
  22. Oh, and if someone wants to get the first volume of Hampton.. http://graveyardmall.com/comlionhamja.html
  23. I have the Duke Ellington V11/12, the Bix set (Sold the Joe Newman set awhile back) and have a Fats Waller V9/10 which has one of my favorite Waller tunes Mamacita, but the audio is terrible for some reason....didn't I read somewhere that the Lps were more complete, with alternates and all???
