  1. There's a tab that lets you change the language setting to english. I've tried to attach a screenshot, hopefully it works. From there it's basically the same as Amazon US although shipping costs/options will vary.
  2. Not sure about extra tracks but it's available good and cheap from Japan.
  3. Circumstances change and can change quickly, but there was an interview with Cuscuna recently which seemed to indicate that they planned to continue (was more positive than i'd imagined). I think as they do small-ish print runs of say 500-1000 at a time (rather than printing the whole 7500 copies of a set all at once and storing them), i think depending on how the set has sold maybe sometimes they opt to let it go OOP voluntarily rather than printing another 500-1000 or whatever. So if it's been sitting on 'this item is backordered' status for a while, maybe they look at it and go, "guys, we ain't gonna sell another 1000 of these, rather than printing 1000 we've got a few returns lying around that we can tidy up and cobble together and put it on 'last chance', and then that's it". Or maybe the licence runs out. I guess it's case by case. This is pure speculation on my part.
  4. Keefe Jackson - Ready Everyday I love this quote from John Litweiler regarding Aram Shelton and Keefe Jackson: “Like Shelton, Keefe Jackson is a virtual model of saxophonists who compose as they improvise. These are important, no-bullshit artists who recall Prez’s rule that a solo should tell a story.”
  5. Joe McPhee & Dominic Duval - The Dream Book
  6. Keefe Jackson & Jason Adasiewicz - Rows and Rows Took a pass on this when it first came out. Listening now and it is hitting the spot big time.
  7. That reminds me, being stressed is another things that exacerbates it for me.
  8. Yup. Mines not too bad, similar frequency to a CRT TV. It's always there but not bad enough to keep me from sleeping etc and i can forget about it sometimes. No tips for decreasing it sorry mate. I'm conscious of things that exacerbate it like caffeine, alcohol, being tired, being sick. I do everything i can to avoid further damage.
  9. Bud Powell - At the Golden Circle Volume 3
  10. Harris Eisenstadt - Recent Developments This album is knocking me out.
  11. Thanks for this; a really interesting read. RIP Allan.
  12. Congrats on both counts Chuck. Looking forward to getting my copy of Signaling from Amazon Japan as soon as they get some more stock in.
  13. Clifford Brown - The Beginning and The End
  14. http://www.5049records.com/podcast/ken-vandermark Interesting interview. I was looking for info on why Vandermark quit the Chicago Reed Quartet and disbanded Audio One (both fantastic 'Chicago' groups). The answers aren't here, although towards the end he does talk about how he's been frustrated with Chicago artists taking the Chicago scene for granted, in terms of getting complacent. There's not necessarily any correlation but i found it interesting. Anyway, it's an all-round interesting interview and an enjoyable conversation to listen in on. I'm not a huge Podcast guy but i've been getting more in to them lately. I'm looking forward to exploring Cymerman's other interviews.
  15. Antônio Carlos Jobim - The Composer Of Desafinado, Plays I apparently didn't make that much of an effort, but i've always wanted to get the Antônio Carlos Jobim album with the version of Insensatez that was used on David Lynch's Lost Highway soundtrack. Finally i have it. Maybe it's partly the familiarity from listening to it for 20 years, but i think it's a perfect piece of music.
  16. Earlier: Nick Mazzarella Trio - Ultraviolet Chicago... NP: Miles Okazaki - Trickster Second listen. Intriguing album. Not quite sure what i think really. All of it is impressive, some tracks take flight more than others. Some tracks i tire of quickly, others finish too soon. Despite the apparent ambivalence, time for another spin...
  17. I love the version of Liza' (All The Clouds'll Roll Away) from this album. NP: Nicole Mitchell, Tomeka Reid, Mike Reed - Artifacts
  18. Joe Farrell - Penny Arcade If you skip the corny first track, this album flows on from Moon Germs much better and becomes a better album in general.
  19. Hmmm. Yeah i was on the fence after listening to the preview tracks on bandcamp, i feel like it will be a grower too.
  20. The 'pissing contest' thing was self-deprecatingly aimed at myself.
  21. How is it? Hopefully my copy will be here in the next few days.
