  1. Here are a few photos from tonights shows. Pretty packed house at the Jazz Kitchen for the first show...not so much for the second show....but the music was great. Rachel was there, as was Jim's wife Allison and several local musicians in the house as well...lots of fun....looking for a return visit in the near future.
  2. Organissimo tonight, Mose Allison on Sunday and Fareed Haque next Friday.
  3. I'll be at the game but have no idea who will win...I guess that's why they actually play the game. I know I'm tired of hearing about the Pat almost as much as hearing about the Red Sox ! I'm not apologizing for anything! m
  4. I leave that for you to sift through. You seem to drag a trail of irate posters. Hmm, must be due to your iron clad logic and warm posting style, and the nice names you call people and the States and cities they live in.In the meantime, stick around the NFL thread if you want to talk football. If you just want to get into sophomoric semantic arguments with people then exchange pms or whatever. So what is your opinion? Top 5 or top 10 pick? ...no shit!
  5. That's more along the lines of what I was thinking!
  6. ..not sure I've ever seen a pie like this?
  7. ...while the Jazz Kitchen is not that big, the restroom is at the other end of the place....run really, really fast! m
  8. I've been waiting all year for this day.....Happy Birthday to both of you!!!!
  9. There goes the Indy contingent....sad news! Hopefully Rachel can make it ! m
  10. Chris, if you make it; beers are on me!
  11. ...and Buddy Collette. I met him in LA last year....wonderful man!!! m~
  12. After waiting patiently for a couple years, Organissimo is finally coming to Indy to play at the Jazz Kitchen ( www.thejazzkitchen.com ) this coming Friday night (November 2nd). It's about time!!! If you live in Indy or the surrounding area......make sure you are here this Friday night!!! Mark~
  13. Thanks, it was a blast doing the shoot. The cover shot was Bobby's idea.....Chris was not hip to sitting in the grass but he survived. Bobby, Chris and Greg plus the sound engineer Josh were all cool and accomdating as I worked with them throughout the day. The cover shot was done on the grounds of the recording studio...the liner shots were done in the recording studion during the mixing process. Went from the studio to their gig that night.........nice, long day! I actually just got the cd this past Saturday....have listened to it several times.....very cool! Mark~
  14. Also there are a couple Jim Flora calendars available....very limited...on ebay. Each have one Flora image with 12 tear off pages. All hand printed....pretty nice. There may only be 40 or so of these left....act now !!! I"m a big fan of Flora and have a few original things of his so I couldn't pass on these. Bought one for my home and one for my office. Jim Flora Art LLC is offering three hand-printed 2008 calendars: swingin' sax, boogie-beat drummer, and starlite moon. We have a limited number (30 each) to sell. That's it. It's not a numbered edition — 500 backing cards each were printed by Yee-Haw Industries (Knoxville), but due to scheduling demands, the production team could only finish a few hundred calendars for retail boutiques. JFA LLC received 30 sets for our customers. Sales are first-come, first-served. Each calendar costs $12.50 + s/h (see below). We accept checks and PayPal (info@JimFlora.com). The backing cards are letterpress printed on recycled stock, measuring 10" x 4-1/2". The attached calendar, with 12 pull-off pages, measures 3-1/4" x 4-1/2". The Jim Flora illustrations date from the mid-1950s. Those little flyspecks you see around the images are a natural byproduct of the hand-printing process.
