  1. ~ I always hated that "backed in" statement....If you win the most games in your division (and have led the division for almost the entire year), you did not back in! m~
  2. I long for the day I can get my mits on a huge book of Smith's photographs from this period!!! m~
  3. That shit is classic.....!!!!
  4. I'm in Chicago at my hotel, getting ready to head out for some grub and then on to the Hungry Brain to check them out.....! May post some photos in the next day or so. m~
  5. I love the oldies, I really love Motown, I don't love the Archies.
  6. Coltrane's Fearless Leader...used 30% off Borders coupon for cost of $41.99... m~
  7. I believe it's out now!
  8. This clearly shows you have no idea what the African heritage of percussion and ryhthm is all about, matters of taste notwithstanding. Elvin had a real deep connection to this. Besides that, I wonder what "corny congas" might be, except for the alliteration .... Hey, are you one of those "corny" conga players??? Mark~
  9. ....latest Borders coupon...20% 9.28 through 10.01 http://f.chtah.com/i/9/276579820/coupon2010_0928.htm

  14. ...no way I'm getting in one of those things and actually driving on the road with real cars......!!! Reminds me of a McDonald's commercials where the guy rents the car referred to as the "2 door speck"....way too small for me! m~
  15. I have also seen him three times (time to get rid of the black leather jacket) and all three times he played well. Two times better than the third where he just seemed very distracted (more than normal for him). m~
  16. Have a GREAT day, Matt!!!
  17. I take it she wasn't your now ex-wife???
  18. Uh, I don't think so. That's clearly unethical, and I would think probably fraudulent, manipulation of the auction process. The item is supposed to go to the highest bidder, and requests/intimidation/collusion or whatever have no place in the auction process. If he is so determined to win the auction, there's a way to do that - bid higher than the other bidders.
  19. Shiver me timbers! Stap me vitals! (oooo go on) MG
  20. ...this is one of the dumbest threads ever!.....and there have been some dumb one! m~
  21. Welcome Scott! As I mentioned above, although I know of you, I really don't know your work that well no do I live/die/buy on critic's reviews.....but hopefully you'll stick around and post from time to time.....sure seems to add some excitement to an otherwise dull day! Mark~
  22. Yes, in a way it was a mistake for me to delete that thread, but I did it because Jim was uncomfortable with it. I think we need to respect Jim's feelings on the matter. I am a bit surprised by the the amount of power a critic seems to have. It's only when we can "criticize the critics" that their power is kept in check. BTW, Scott's email to Allen, private or not, was hardly said in jest. It was a sarcastic little missive, designed to provoke a reaction. Perhaps the thread needs to be deleted for that reason alone. ...so send him a big "fuck off" and get on with life! I don't know much about Scott's writings and am not throwing stones at Allen or Scott; I genereally don't buy/see/read/listen to something based on a critic's reveiw....but I wouldn't post an email sent to me on any site....just my 2 cents! m~
