Chase DeLauter!!

I saw the ACS trio twice in 2013. In June at Town Hall for the Wayne Shorter 80th birthday celebration and then at Kennedy Center in October.

I’m also a fan of a fairly recent CB tribute by Ben Allison, Steve Cardenas, and Ted Nash. https://stevecardenas.bandcamp.com/album/healing-power-the-music-of-carla-bley Ben discusses it a bit here:

Thanks for the tip. Walter Bishop's Coral Keys is the only title that I have familiarity with (and own). I listened to portions of a long Black Jazz YT playlist and made some selections, though I was not fast enough to include Bishop's Keeper of My Soul.

And now back to more extra inning WS action!

Yamamoto warming up!?!

17 innings (so far)…

Hopefully David and company put on a great show and outdraw the Glenn Miller Orchestra.

Bummer I will be elsewhere for new year so will miss Cookers.

Definitely go for smallish markets, and or teams that have never won. MIL/SEA

Slight, unimportant nitpick: is this topic better placed under “Reissues”?
-
Indeed. Also agree on having a rooting interest beyond DYD.

Go Guardians go! Future HOFer Jose Ramirez, Steven Kwan, and seven other “bats” in witness protection. Scrappy as hell. Will eventually succumb to teams w much larger payrolls, but fun for now.

Just received a “Jazz is back at Kennedy Center!” email with no additions to schedule beyond what I described above.

I have been a longtime Kennedy Center subscriber, primarily for jazz and dance. Lots of tremendous shows there over the years. My last jazz performance there for me this season was Jason Moran & Friends in late April. Those friends were Wadada Leo Smith, Sylvie Courvoisier, Mary Halvorson, Nicole Mitchell, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Reggie Workman. Over the years, the jazz program was notorious for being the last to announce its schedule. Two months ago, I exchanged emails with Kevin gently asking if/when a subscription series might be announced. He suggested (...not too strongly) that something might get announced late August/early September. So prior to this most recent news, I would occasionally check the website. What “jazz” is currently scheduled? There are a few free performances on the Millenium Stage. For ticketed events, the Pan American Symphony Orchestra will present Tango of the Americas in October and one week later, the Glenn Miller Orchestra performs. Seriously. Check out their current suits. As of this writing, that is the jazz program at Kennedy Center.

What's Your Highest Yahtzee Score?

Nice! Just checked my phone app stats. Mine is 419. -
Lots of interesting games so far this post-season. Big fan of Cavs who continue to quietly take care of business, though admittedly 10th seed Heat perhaps not much of a test (even given “Spoelstra genius” and “Heat culture”).. Heading up for game 1 v Pacers this weekend. Still a big fan of LeBron but rather happy that LeBron/Luka crash landed amidst all of the drooling hype. Still need a center (or two) w some ability to succeed in postseason and Lakers bone dry there. Not a fan of Rockets (esp Brooks), but wouldn’t be sad to see Steph also fail to get to second round. Time to move past these all-time greats when they no longer are on completely stacked teams. Totally understand the disgust of Mavs fans.

Tremendous ball-handler and finisher, but a real knucklehead incl about various hoops things in Cleveland, Boston, and Brooklyn. Maybe “a different maturity” as TNT talkers just said? Maybe

Congrats to Yankees and Yankee fans. Given the massive payroll and talent difference, kind of pre-ordained. At least some fun, and the scrappy rebel alliance took down the Evil Empire once in glorious fashion. Overall NY took care of CLE 2 main strengths: bullpen and Jose Ramirez. CLE most definitely did NOT handle Soto/Stanton/Judge. But then Soto should still be a Nat and Lindor should still be playing next to Jose Jose. Oh well. NBA gets underway shortly.
