I hate when that happens, especially when it's all season long.

Road trip?? -
We already have a come-from-behind-win with two outs in the ninth. Andy Marte, trying to salvage a professional career, his his second HR of the season. Quite exciting. And only about 13K fans out at Angelos' haunts--what a difference compared to the late 90's when the O's and the Tribe were excellent. I'd even consider catching a game up there, but not after the crap Angelos pulled with respect to the Nationals.

Adam, My 3 discs made it safely from Left Coast to Right. Thanks!

2 out of 3 for the Tribe at KC!!! David Huff pitched well (6IP, 2 ER), Matt LaPorta hit his second HR of the season, and Kerry Wood got his 16th save.

Yes, indeed Cliff Lee!!! The poor man's Doc Holladay.

This Bos/NY series was a lot less exciting to non-partisan fans than the previous series. When the close game/"pitchers' duel" is decided by 4 runs and includes 5 HRs all by one team... Joe Morgan is brutal. I've also grown a bit tired of Jon Miller, but I think that's because he sits next to Joe. Thoughts? Gotta say it's still disheartening/frustrating to see Yankee CC Sabathia pitching to Red Sox Victor Martinez. These guys should be playing catch with each other while wearing politically incorrect native americans (or a cursive "I" or nondescript "C") on their caps. Small markets may compete from time to time, but the margin of error is extremely thin--the stars have to align perfectly or demolition is in order. Hopefully Tribe will get lucky with the talent they received in exchange for Sabathia, Martinez, and Lee. Matt LaPorta, the key component of the Sabathia trade, is not yet turning heads. Patience. If/when the next golden era in Cleveland comes, at least some of us will remember the high price they paid for that young talent. For now, go Rangers, go Rays.

They got a good start, taking two of three from Seattle. Fausto Carmona looked a bit like the 2007 version, and the Tribe bats got to King Felix. Looks like ex-Indian Franklin Gutierrez is accomplishing more in Seattle than in Cleveland. And vice versa for Luis Valbuena (a banjo hitting shortstop that bats 6th in the Cleveland order but manages to get some clutch extra base hits)--perhaps the next Asdrubal Cabrera?

Is $980 a high price for a used Guardala goldplated tenor mouthpiece? From the same seller: mouthpiece -
Modern Jazz Quartet. Try Complete Last Concert (2 cd set) if you can find it.

Cliff is the man. Bit irritating that his one lousy season recently was 2007 when the Tribe got oh so close to the Series. If he's healthy that year... Oh well. Back to rooting for ex-Indians that play for Phils, Bosox, and Yankees. And wondering if Grady Sizemore will ever hit .280 again.

Got an email from SS saying they shipped everything except the Bill Evans which is "In Process". Oh well. When I clicked it into my cart, it was advertised as the last available copy. Waiting for more from a distrib, lost count, being shipped from another (slower) location?

What's your problem with Casey Blake, beard envy?

Could the fine folks in Northern Ohio interest you in one Kerry Wood? ...I didn't think so. Some ejections, including Youk, in the Bos/Det contest. Tribe shuts out Texas, 5-0. Aaron Laffey pitches well at home. They're 13-6 in their last 19, and closing in on Oakland for the 11th best record in the AL!

They were actually pretty good two seasons ago--just one win away from the World Series. Kinda like the Cubs in 2003 and 1984.
-
John Kruk had them in the World Series this year as his prediction on ESPN. I forgot to mention that Kerry Wood is still available. Anybody?

and in other news, Tribe deals Carl Pavano to Twinkies for Toby Namedlater. Pavano can beat AL Central foes, but not much else. No idea who is on the list of minor leaguers from which the Tribe chooses. Cliff Lee, Carl Pavano, Rafael Betancourt, Victor Martinez, Ryan Garko, Mark DeRosa, and Ben Francisco all traded away--pretty impressive housecleaning for a team that thought it would contend this year and next. Watch out in 2011!

Is this how we ended up with ASCAP?

His last few posts have only been about trades, actual or rumored, so he's still living by his self-imposed rule, for now. I think the Bosox figured out how to use VMart--reduce the exposure of Varitek and Lowell to live pitching. If Youkilis can play third, then VMart does what he did in Cleveland--split time behind the plate and at first. Of course facing the Orioles is a nice way to start... Carl Pavano rumored to be available for waiver trade. ...Who'd be interested?

Masterson was good last night, but yeah, they have no pitching (and little else). They are, however, about to take 2 out of 3 from Detroit, provided Carl Pavano and a tired pen can protect an 11 run lead for a long 6 outs.
