  1. I placed my order on June 11. It shipped on June 19. It arrived sometime in June 23-26. All 14 items shipped, including Gil Evans & Ten and This is Criss!.
  2. I believe shipping is something like $2.95 for the first disc and $1 per disc thereafter.
  3. ...how could I forgot that other pathetic ex-Cub, Joe Borowski.
  4. Kerry Wood sucks whatever.... Asked to get only 3 outs from the bottom of the Cubs order, and can't get it done. This guy is no different than Bob Wickman, or Fausto Carmona (as closer), or (last Tribe year) Jose Mesa. How tough can it be? Closer spot in Cleveland has been cursed... Thought I'd start paying a bit more attention to AL baseball, but maybe I shouldn't. Life is too short (and the late innings too long).
  5. Relax. No point at all. Enjoying a baseball card of a relatively successful Cleveland Indian pitcher (...they are in relatively short supply). My card collecting days started about 15 years later.
  6. Flip that Mudcat Grant card over (gently).
  7. But Carmona and Rafael Perez are still massive headcases. So maybe I should meditate on what big men the Cavs try to acquire...
  8. And they are still optimistic that if/when Sizemore, Betancourt, Laffey, and Westbrook return, they may be able to make a run in the mediocre AL Central. Here's hoping. ...And Hafner went deep tonight. A little too much Bob Uecker.
  9. Not Mr. Buss?

  11. Cliff Lee!!!
  12. congrats to the Lakers. awesome performance by Kobe and company. And look to be around for awhile (provided Odom and Ariza return).
  13. How many future HOFers has Phil Jackson developed? I can't think of any offhand. Yes, he is a fine coach with an outstanding record of success. No one can argue that. But is he really in some sacred stratosphere above the rest? I remember him sitting there on the Bulls bench as an assistant, quietly minding his time while Doug Collins had to try to manage Jordan, babysit Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant (which was painful at times), and try to get wins with a large collection of mediocre players (Dave Corzine, Charles Davis, Brad Sellers, Sam Vincent, Will Perdue). Once they got Pippen and Grant out of diapers, Doug is shown the door and Phil steps in. Make Phil the coach of the Raptors or Hawks (each with at least one AllStar caliber player today)--does he get them to the conference finals in 2 or 3 years? Or faster than Collins, Poppovich, Sloan, Tomjanovich, Wilkens, Daly, etc would? Suppose you need the Raptors or Hawks to win a second or third round playoff series. Is Phil your obvious choice to coach them? Not for me. Talented coach, but a whole lotta right time/right place. And too much fawning over his impressive record (same goes for Auerbach in my book). Maybe I'm suffering from zen fatigue.
  14. Must answer this question: Zero. Kobe laying bricks at the line. He's so much a better "closer" than LeBron. Right.
  15. And the bit I watched of last night's Yankee game featured fans doing the wave in the 8th inning of a very close game. Hey, I can understand if it's a blowout one way or the other, or if it's an afternoon game with day campers, but... Few things more depressing than to hear discussions/wishes for Indians stars. Reverting back to being a AAA outfit for teams with loads of cash and lots of postseason aspirations? Anyone hear any legit discussion regarding Cliff Lee or Victor Martinez, or is this just vultures circling an injured dove? I haven't heard any speculation, but then I haven't been hanging on every Tribe at bat either. At least the Tribe is in the AL Central, so they are not completely out of it yet. The lights are turned off, but maybe the party isn't over yet (though it is quiet and lonely right now). Last first round pick by the Indians to make a lasting impact in the bigs--C.C. Sabathia in 1998.
  16. My six disc Nonesuch set arrived from Kentucky today. Thanks again for the tip, Lon!
  17. What Big Wheel said. Order placed.
  18. A shocked Cliff Lee gets a month's worth of offense in a 10-1 win at Minnesota.
  19. Isn't just about every sport a "concentration sport"?
  20. Is Mosaic in charge of the RVG catalog??
  21. I had the good fortune to attend games 1 and 2 of CLE/ORL. Game 1 was so tight at the end. Tough watching the big Cavs leads drip drip away--that clock couldn't click down fast enough. And the silence in the arena when they were 1 second away from going down 0-2. And then, Wow!!! Made for an interesting drive home--everyone highfiving each other in the garage, etc. Yet everyone it seemed had the same general unease. Cavs are definitely in trouble. And LeBron is definitely the man. Too bad that with everyone now watching them closely, Mo Williams and Delonte West have completely disappeared. At least the Cleveland defense improved in game 3. As lousy as they were shooting as a team, they were only down 3 or 4 midway into the 4th quarter. Turkoglu and Rashard were less than All-Beastly. And congrats to Dwight Howard for making most of his free throws--he'll need to keep it up tomorrow. I'm not optimistic about Cavs, and I dread the inevitable uptick in "He's going to NY" chatter that will follow their exit. They have phones in Cleveland, and an international airport. Folks can figure out how to get there (or to Akron). How much more coin is LeBron really going to make as a Knick, and how? I don't think he'll be pitching the local used car dealer or drycleaner. Coke and Nike and Cub Cadet and Vitamin Water etc have managed to find Him in Ohio (and have paid him). end of rant. Despite the cynical "Stern wants Kobe/LeBron" chatter, I think NBA has to be thrilled with the conference finals so far. All games have been close, and the stars have played well. Officiating has been a bit dicey, but hey, it's the NBA.
  22. Happy Birthday Jim Hope your 33rd year is prosperous (financially, creatively, family, etc).
  23. Marbury as a Knick.
  24. Ola Scola !!!
