Yeh baby yeh! I got the sidewinder, some Albert Ammons boogie woogie, US3 cantaloop thing, song for my father B) Even go the austin powers and black adder themes If you have a way of getting them to your phone I can cough* arrange for them to appear in you inbox . They are all free of course Let me know anybody..... They are for sale on various sites for lots of money and yet all they are are midi files played by synths...........easy really But the pains who run these companies want money for a 25 sec midi file The best one by far is Ronny JOrdans version of So What kewl Run a search for jazz midi file using your search engine ( not polyphonc ring tone!) and you will find the same (but free ) thing ANyway Get in tounch with me and I can forward some.............they are only about 20-40k in fact I think I can do one here.....

suggestions for the next "Rare Groove" series
andybleaden replied to Rooster_Ties's topic in Re-issues
My votes would go for Set us Free and on Broadway by Reuben Wilson which I miss from LP days The other titles I would love to see that have already been issued would be Say it Loud by Lou Donaldson which I never got. I still think they could do with issuing Shades of Green. I really liked this and would love to have it again. -
This is the reason that america has gone to the dogs...you all cannot fail to miss the $$ You need to be thinking of investing in this ...you have already missed one opportunity!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=4151005636 Stop the world I want to get off

Oooo, I did leave that there, didn't I? I wonder if the transfer engineer would rather I take this down? Since you caught it, Weizen, what do you think? Should I take it down? BTW, I have this as a Power Point file if anyone's interested. It cuts up nicely and fits like a charm. Funny thing is, I was just putting the finishing touches on a "Dance With Death" cover before this announcement. Later, Kevin Its a raid ..............run they are coming . It sthe RIAA Now don't tease either of you. -

You naughty sausage! I forgot all about that!!! What more could I do , April the 1st was there, no Mosaic reissues annoucement of all Andrew Hills rare pieces, no Blue Train Volume 2. Maybe I got a bit carried away -_- I apologise especially to those people with engineer expertise and or cd burners! Let me know if there is a penance that I can pay for my April Foolery! -

Now I am going to sulk. How did you guys end up with Take Aim and i did not. I bagged the Booker Ervin and Andrew Hill a while ago but never got the Harold Land Any help until it gets reissued? -
Mintons I have to say is one of my favourites spins. I even remember buying the jpn lps after I had the cds ( ok slightly mad ) but sold them for a huge sum later. I have the mosaic box set and love it. I have to say though that the last set ( another story) was pretty poor. But hey this was a cheap way to get a great deal of Turrentines work.

Great news all round as far as I am concerned. I already have the JTVG of Easterly Winds so I will wait to check whether this is worth me making money on ebay I am also looking forward to a new copy of dance with death which I have a copy of but would prefer an original. I will also get all the rest except the Rivers and the Young which I have on Mosaic and they are more than good enough for me. Welcome back to the horace silvers though. I gotta have a little talk with my stomach ..... -
I never managed to pick up inner glow which was a shame nor was I able to find Freedom by Kenny Burrell but by hook or by crook or mosaic I have managed to whittle down the list of missing Japanese Blue Notes to single figures which, though expensive and time consuming, has proven to be a delight. Anyone here ever managed to find Freedom or Inner Glow on cdr?

New Japanese Blue Mini LP CDs!!, Heads up part two
andybleaden replied to andybleaden's topic in New Releases
yep -_- and I quote ahem from the Japanese microgroove site http://microgroove.jp/bluenote-jpn/1977-1983.shtml 1980-1981 "Unissued Masters Series, Part 2", by King Records This part 2 includes unreleased materials which were already issued in the LT series. However, instead of reusing jacket designs seen on LT series, King records fitted newly-designed cover artworks. I iwsh I had a cd of that and a few others of these -

I have to say that I had a large collection of the OJC vinyls and I thought that they were by and large excellent. A few exceptions were vastly outnumbered by the chance to own such goodies as items by them not seen on cd by Red Garland or Sonny Red or Houston Person. You have to remember that the OJC cd list was a lot smaller then and I just wanted the music then. Go get em before they disapear and then the EBAY priices start going up. There are still bags of selaed copies around so go for them....go on..... now be quick! Hurry , switch your pc of when you get back

Thanks for that ...loads more if you look under the sp section http://www.gokudo.co.jp/Record/SPRec/index.htm This is just what I needed/thought of. Perhaps we should send them our rarities Andy btw I would be interested to know what this one was I will have a scout around

Not necessarily better just nicer, quality. You may remember that when the conns came out they were going to be wonderful and yet they were poorly packaged with mostly flimsy covers unlike these beauties which if other Japanese pressings are anything to go my ( and I used to have a few of the masterpiece/replica series then they will be welcome Not cheap though Maybe it is just attention to detail. I remember the paper thin reissues I picked up from the 70's etc whixh I had not hesitation in trading up for Toshiba pressings and the later rare grooves were not a great deal better. Andy
-
like this one you mean? Yeh I have seen that one but we could do with one with all rare or special issues or alternaitve covers like all the japanese ones and the weird late 60's ones etc Anyway cheers for the reminder
-
Sorry the quote was direct from the website so you would need to email the main man : shaolin@microgroove.jp I will not be buying as they do not fit in my cd player but I would have done when I had Lps
-
Just once again to credit the hard work of the web owner on this one. I Have hada really nice half hour reminiscing Do you think it is about time for a complete cover website?? DO people here have the necessary resources or should it tie in with the large jazz discography pages?? Anyway I would be interested in helping compile this especially some of the rarer bits and pieces that surface on EBAY which I usually click and keep for a rainy day Andy

Oh dear I remember now why I used to buy Japanese LPs In all an excellent site and full credit to MATSUBAYASHI, 'Shaolin' Kohji for a great site http://microgroove.jp/bluenote-jpn/
