The Indianapolis Colts grabbed Reid back when the Patriots cut him. He's on their 53 man roster too, not the practice squad. The Patriots can't sign him. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hank Poteat back on the Patriots... which scares the crap out of me. He wasn't that good. BTW, Earthwind Moreland is available. I bet Troy Brown is practicing with the defense again. Kevin ← Forget Earthwind. He sucks. Poteat might be back, I agree, but cornerback Bobby Taylor visited the team last week. Don't be surprised if he signs. The team just signed a safety today by the name of Stone (forgot his first name.) Don't know anything about him, but he's got some big shoes to fill.

It's interesting because a lot of Pats fans are bitching about the difficulty of their schedule. Well, you could certainly argue that the defending Super Bowl champion should suffer the hardest schedule in the league. But what's interesting is that their division looks a lot weaker at this stage than was expected. Buffalo is reeling as well. Miami is currently in second place. Pat's schedule may not prove as difficult as originally thought.

We'll trade our backup QB, Doug Flutie for a strong safety.

Of course, there will be other injuries by year end. There is a small pool of available veteran safties in the free agent market such as Reggie Tongue and Brock Marion, but I think the Pats will re-sign second-year man Dexter Reid, who is also valuable on special teams. They could also move Chad Scott to the safety position and sign a cornerback or two to replace him. (You heard it first here, guys. ) Anyway, I'm not giving up on the season just yet. Most teams will have to overcome injuries throughout the year. Seems the Pats always suffer more than other teams, but that can't happen every year. Things have to even out by year end. Bills lost Takeo Spikes for the year; and the Pennington loss for the Jets is huge.

Gotta admit that Foster's is one of my current favorites as well. I sometimes get it for $9.99 a 12-pack, but right now I'm paying $11.99.

Rodney Harrison will be put on Injured Reserve and will be out for the year. Matt Light's injury is still being assessed. Is it possible for the Patriots to ever have all their stars on the field at the same time? Man, it's frustrating...

Noj is smoking so far! He's got me by one going into Monday's game where we disagree on the winner. I'm 10-3 so far, and Noj is one better. Great picking so far, Noj.

Steelers tie the game on what... a penalty of course!

7 point lead now. Frustrating game, but Belichik has produced one of his coaching masterpieces so far. They've shut down Willie Parker, and Troy Polamalu hasn't done much yet either. They've also frustrated Big Ben. --damn, Steelers just had a nice kickoff return. More work ahead....

Patriots have been dominating the game, but turnovers, penalties, injuries... Very frustrating for a Patriot fan to watch. I've been yelling at the TV all game. I'm worn out. We're ahead right now, and the Steeler defence has to be getting tired, but still more penalties... grrrr!

New England has just lost a couple of starters in the secondary already in the first quarter. They've got another three defensive backs injured. Man, it's back to last year and sticking wide receivers in the backfield... That Pittsburgh field is great for twisting ankles. Ty Law lost the entire season from a game last year at Heinz Field. We've definitely got our work cut out for us.

We expect it from Canadians...
