  1. Good job! Congrats!
  2. ...yeah, right!! Pat's defence looked good for the first time in many games. I'm, of course, delighted with the win.
  3. Dang! Looks like I'm the only one picking Miami to win in an upset. That'll put me one up on the competition...
  4. It's all about picking, Ss1. I'm still sore about picking my team in an upset over Indy last week. They went out there and laid a big egg. Miami has always been a house of horrors for the Pats. We'll find a way to lose the game. I'm sticking with my pick...
  5. Got to get my picks off before gametime... DETROIT JACKSONVILLE INDIANAPOLIS BUFFALO NY GIANTS MIAMI (First upset pick of the week) CHICAGO WASHINGTON (tough, tough game to pick) OAKLAND (second upset pick of the week) CAROLINA ATLANTA SEATTLE PITTSBURGH PHILADELPHIA 38 points
  6. I "upgraded" my Conn version for the new RVG. I don't think I compared them. Don't know if I made the right move.
  7. Awesome week for SS1!
  8. I don't agree at all. Rodney went down in the Pittsburgh game, and they've played like crap after that. Carolina manhandled the Pat secondary, and I will agree that the weaknesses were showing then. On the other hand, they thoroughly outplayed a good team when they beat Pittsburgh the following week. Again, it has been downhill ever since. I do agree that injuries don't tell the whole story, but they did lose Bruscke for the first half of the season, and Ted Johnson suddenly retired during training camp. There were too many personnel issues to patch them all up effectively. If the team can replenish with next year's draft and free agency period, you will definitely see the Pats as a real championship contender again. It is very possible, but this year is out. In 2002 after winning their first Super Bowl, the Pats finished 9-7 and couldn't stop the run. The following season, they signed Ted Washington and even though they stumbled at the start when they suddenly released safety Lawyer Milloy, they went on to win two straight Super Bowls. The team looked really bad in 2002. Really bad. Next year is another story. Colts obviously look good, but the NFC has some good teams this year with NY Giants, Washington, Dallas, Philly, Carolina, Atlanta, Seattle. I wouldn't hand over the crown to the Colts just yet. They still haven't played anybody tough. (NE wasn't tough.)
  9. Thanks for the wishes everyone...really nice.
  10. Wow! What a picture! Hey, thanks everyone. I'll have to check the main page to see how old I am. You're right, Chuck, the years are going by too fast now.
  11. I don't understand T.O. It seems that he and Donovan just never hit it off. McNabb is one of the better quarterbacks in the league. Why fire off on him so much? I don't get it.
  12. Waiting for SS1's picks.
  13. I've also changed my pick on the Tampa/Carolina game. I did some more thinking about that one today, and don't feel good about going against Tampa in a division game at home. It's still only Friday, okay, folks!?
  14. How did I miss that? Thanks for the headsup, Noj. I'm going with Minnesota on that one.
  15. That's a shame - I have a near mint spider conch for trade. Hardly used.. Abalone shells? ← Those are nice shells. Would have been tempting...(speaking of the spider conchs)
  16. Thank God for Evan's quick response. Moose was tempting me with a collection of "Vote Yes on Issue 4" campaign buttons.
  17. Junior Cook Quartet, "The Place To Be" George Cables Trio, "Cables Fables" $11 each/$20 for the two postage paid. peepal preferred. I cannot accept Chinese pottery shards, spider conchs, slot machine tokens used by GIs in Da Naang during the Vietnam war, and golden foil-wrapped chocolate coins...sorry.
  18. Tough week to pick: MIAMI MINNESOTA TAMPA BAY CINCINNATI (another tough game. Baltimore's "D" played well against the Steelers) JACKSONVILLE KANSAS CITY SAN DIEGO CLEVELAND NY GIANTS SEATTLE GREEN BAY (One of my upset picks of the week) WASHINGTON CHICAGO NEW ENGLAND (there's the other. Belichick will find yet another way to frustrate Peyton) 52 points.
  19. Some people hate mini-lps, but I love em too, Ghost.
  20. Doesn't your job allow you to do that Ghostie? Damn, I'd like to to that kind of stuff too, only substitute tea for coffee. As it stands, I'll have to wait till retirement to do that when I'll have bad eyesight, no hearing left, and some kind of ailment preventing caffeine intake.
  21. Unfortunately, I can't answer your question. I was tempted to go for these myself, but just don't want to spare the $70 right now. Hans usually offers excellent stuff. I have the domestic versions, but if he had caught me at a more financially expansive time, then I could have done it. I don't know, Skid. I tend to like Japanese masterings. Should be worth it.
  22. Yeah, but you've got a live cd to work on in the meantime...
