  1. I'm surprised you don't already have this one, Al.
  2. This one is a big dog to me. I had it once and sold it. There is no real interest in trying it out again. Heck, we all have our personal tastes.
  3. Dang! Still no respect for the Pistons... With McDeyss, they are even stronger than before.
  4. That's a virtual confession from our good friend, Catesta.
  5. I sure don't have a problem with Jack Wilson, "Easterly Winds" JRVG. Maybe Kevin's ears are plugged up!
  6. So wonky that I dumped it... AM radio comes to mind. Kevin, Just curious, but where are you dumping these...I'd gladly take any that you're not interested in off of your hands for fair prices. Let me know. Hang on there! If it's so wonky, you might get mine! (Didn't I offer you "Demon's Dance" before and you weren't interested?)
  7. Better not...I just bought it! I just didn't like the Collector's Choice sound. Needed some perking up.
  8. Having some now and it's past 10:00. I do it to forget my problems.
  9. I stop around 10:00. But then I don't sleep so well sometimes...
  10. I don't think ebay frets too much over these kinds of things. They sure don't do anything about them. I don't know how reliable the ebay feedback system is anymore. Do people pay much attention if you have a couple of negative feedbacks? Even a virtual saint like B-3er has at least a couple of negatives...
  11. Good point, Shane, and very true. Still, why would it matter if they reissue these sessions, especially with superior masterings? We should be happy. I paid a collector's price for many of my cds, as did a lot of people on this board, I'm sure. I traded in my old copy of "Black Fire" for $4.50 trade credit on the new RVG. I had originally bought it for $23.00. In the end, I just wanted the music. The collectability aspect is less important. On the other hand, once these copy protection discs take over, then you'll find your older cds becoming more valuable as collectables.
  12. I have the second DVD as well and highly recommend it. Woody Shaw is brilliant, particularly on the second track...is it "All alone?" Each musician is given a lot of space on their solos. Great music for sure.
  13. Hmm, another one I don't have!
  14. ...and I don't have that one! Got a lot of Jack McDuff too, but not that one...
  15. Damn! Blue Mitchell, "Down With It" Grant Green, "Carryin' On" Jack McDuff, "Down Home style" are all good too! Nevertheless, I stick with my top five...
  16. Let's continue the thread. Name your favorite five. Mine are: Duke Pearson, "Right Touch" John Patton, "Got a Good thing Goin" John Patton, "Let em Roll" John Patton, "Memphis to NY Spirit" Reuben Wilson, "Love Bug" Honorable mention to Duke Pearson, "Sweet Honey Bee," John Patton, "Boogaloo," and "Accent on the Blues," and Lonnie Smith, "Move Your Hand," along with the two Turrentines and several of the Lou Donaldsons. (Man, it's tough to choose...)
  17. sent pm regarding "Pretty Things," "Understanding," and "Like Someone in love." Can't beat these prices...
  18. I nominate Catesta as the one to select new smilies for the board.
  19. Haven't got the email yet, Tom. Durn pm system isn't working well. Just email me: pdmagin@accesstoledo.com
  20. $13 postage paid for North America. Cash or check accepted.
  21. Not easy to answer. I'd give it to Horace Silvery by a hair. He was so productive. Honorable mentions go to Blakey, Morgan, Shorter, Mobley, Jackie Mac, Joe Henderson, Jimmy Smith and Grant Green.
  22. "Never Let Me Go" $12 including postage to North America. Checks or cash. No peepal or squid eyes accepted...
  23. There ya go, Swede! I was thinking the same thing myself. Unfortunately, you and I are probably the only two here who know who he is.
  24. Don't forget Charles Earland's "Intensity." You'll catch that bug as well...
  25. Car insurance sucks indeed! Why can't we all just drive around with bashes in our cars? It would help make our cars look distinctive and would allow me to locate my generic-brown Toyota in a parking lot...
