  1. Look out people. #37 is coming back for this weekend's game. He's rested and mean. Pat defence is already looking ornery, and Rodney will only add more of this attitude. Look out rest-of-the-league! Suspended safety Rodney Harrison is eligible to return to the Patriots today after serving his four-game suspension for violating the league's banned substance policy, and according to his agent, he can't wait. "He's big-time pumped up, ready to go," said the agent, Steve Feldman.
  2. Since SS1 hasn't updated things yet, I've added up the scores. Week 3 , Week 4 - SS1 7-9 , 6-8 Noj 6-10 , 7-7 Van B 12-4 , 6-8 Conn 8-8 , 6-8 WEEK 3 Winner: Van B! WEEK 4 Winner: Noj!
  3. Cincy is trying hard, but Patriots are a beast of a team!
  4. The Economist's obits are always great reads.
  5. Whoever reads your posts, VB? We're too busy checking out your avatar! :rsmile:
  6. yeah, and I picked it as my upset of the week. Ravens have problems on offense, but they are also missing Adalius Thomas, who was perhaps their most valuable linebacker last year (even with Suggs on the team.)
  7. I'm next in line should John decide not to go through with it!
  8. Yeah, that's what he means.
  9. Wow, what a low price! Everybody should get that set if they can. It's one of my favs.
  10. Actually it's a typical Thai name. Nothing special.
  11. What's RM stand for? Real Music? I've got "Hoochie coochie man" on a twofer with "Mojo", but could do with "Virginia Woolf" - part 2 of that (I had it on a 45) really takes off! MG I picked it up recently and told SS1 about it. Good cd. Take note that it's got several tracks not included in the Oliver Nelson Mosaic.
  12. We just pick winners each week. We have weekly winners and an overall end-of-season winner. You can join in on the weekly picks if you like, but won't be eligible for the end of season totals. Winner gets bragging rights and the ability to tell others their NFL picks "suck!"
  13. Week 3 results: Noj- have to see what his picks were at work. He didnt' post his picks here. SS1 7-9 Conn 8-8 Van Bast(ard) 12-4
  14. Crybaby Ladainian Tomlinson has more to cry about!
  15. Saw the end of the Browns-Raiders game. Browns kicker got iced after a last nanosecond timeout. The second kick got blocked. I knew it would happen as I had picked the Raiders to win.
  16. I agree with this comment. I find them rather pricey; and this is coming from someone who has many Selects and over a dozen of the big boxes. This sale does not attract me.
  17. I loves the 30% deal! Thanks, Free.
  18. Interesting article but it seems a bit extreme. I agree with the main premise that it is dangerous to attempt to make recessions extinct, and it will only backfire down the road. But then that has been Federal Reserve policy for so long. Yeah, I think inflation is greater than the CPI quotes, and yeah, I think our GDP growth is pathetic, but then that's normally contradictory. The dollar has to tank. We're in huge debt and we're running mammoth trade deficits. If it drives up import prices then we'll have to bite the bullet. Too bad we don't produce anything any more in this country and are more dependent than ever on imported goods. Some analysts see American growth as being slow while the rest of the world continues to charge. As long as it leads to foreigners buying American goods as opposed to them just buying our equities and debt instruments then we should be fine. One thing's for sure: the Fed Funds rate was crap when bond rates have been much lower for years. The Fed move actually makes things look more realistic.
  19. Strolled into Borders the other day and found this one on sale for $9.99. Bought it and love it! Reminds me of a precursor to the Plugged Nickel sessions a couple years later. Miles has terrific chops on this one, and George Coleman is terrific. Glad I got this!
  20. Funny skit on Cameragate.
  21. I was moonlighting in Thailand by teaching some evening language classes. My future wife was in one of my classes, and something told me instantly that we would be permanently attached. I can't remember how I approached her, but I don't think it took too long for me to do so. We are still happily married 22 years from the date of our marriage. We have one son. I cannot give any advice to anyone as I think we are all different and approach things differently. I have no experience with dating services, so I can add nothing on that score. Great story Alexander and Jazzbo! Your wives are fortunate to have such husbands.
  22. To all of you who questioned the Patriot wins over the last few years: Kiss my ass! We showed San Diego and their big crybaby Ladainian Tomlinson which team is the most talented in the NFL.
  23. Happy Birthday Mr. Vibes!
