  1. Wasn't there one with Wayne Shorter? ← I was in shock until I realized you were respoinding to the "commentary" question, not the Led Zeppelin album question...
  2. Yeah, I really dug Opera Man, and a few of his songs, but as a movie actor, he makes a great paperweight...
  3. No shit? I'm really pissed now! I put a lot of work into my reply to one asking for his aid in moving a large fortune out of the U.S. to avoid inheritance tax before I could help him with his problem, and I got no answer at all!
  4. Yeah, once David Johannsen (by whatever silly name it was he was going by!) did that one, the plug should have been pulled! ← Moose, you're repeating yourself. But you're consistent! ← Holy shit...I'm becoming my senile grandfather...repeating the same stories over and over...
  5. Okay, here's my choice (after all this time): Baby, It's Cold Outside. Sometime during the David Johannson performance on SNL, this song became a complete joke that I just cannot take seriously. Even the classic performances make me grimace. This song shouldn't just be retired, but should be taken out behind the barn and shot.
  6. Sounds like we're in a pickle...
  7. Stanley was and remains whatever he thinks might bring him the most attention. ← He should try diving off the Golden Gate. I'm sure he'd make a big....nah, I can't say it...
  8. None! After that J&R sale, and placing an order with Nessa's New and Used Musicorama (hey, that Bird & Diz disc is coming out!) I'm back on the wagon for a while...
  9. Sorry, but Pure Pop for Now People is totally ineligible since the original title Jesus of Cool is superior in every way.
  10. Hell no! Let 'em keep all weapons and drop 'em off in Redmond!
  11. Okay, to tie this into another thread, no way would the original make my list of the best 100 films, but it was fun, and for what it was, well made. Remaking it strikes me as just another of an undending string of proofs that Hollywood has run out of ideas, as Free For All points out. This is what passes as "a great idea" in the land of magic these days, and I'm used to it now. I can't seem to get irate about it. I mean, when they started making movies of television shows that were pure shit the first time around, we all knew that remakes were gonna dominate for quite a while. The Adam Sandler bit is another thing altogether. Even if I had any interest in seeing the film otherwise, the fact that he's in it makes it...uh...one vlassic I'll have to miss!
  12. Berigan's Favorite TV Theme Song...
  13. "Starring Arnold Ziffel as the giant cockroach"
  14. Jay Silverheels Rube Goldberg Jeremy Irons
  15. Oh yeah. Some of those characters...
  16. I don't remember exactly, but I got 13 6.99 CDs, which comes to just over $90, and the total charge was less than $100.
  17. Eddie Mathews Warren Spahn BOB BUHL
  18. Yeah, I had the same problem. But I wanted a good mix, so I just grabbed one Pepper. I snagged- We'll Be Together Again/ Ammons & Stitt Soprano Sax/Steve Lacy Sail Away/Tom Harrell Jazz at the Blackhawk/Cal Tjader Coop! The Music of Bob Cooper Screamin' the Blues/Oliver Nelson You Get More Bounce with Curtis Counce (always wanted that cover... ) Out There/Eric Dolphy Latin Concert/Vince Guaraldi This Here is Bobby Timmons Gettin Together!/Art Pepper The Hawk Flys High/Coleman Hawkins (on my list for 6 years now; 'bout time!) Mean What You Say/Thad Jones & Pepper Adams
  19. This reminds me of that Friedman cartoon of Paul Simon and David Byrne running into each other in an African jungle with their tape recorders for some reason...
  20. The Creature from the Black Lagoon Brooke Shields Brook Benton
  21. Does it say "Kiss the Cook"?
  22. Works just the other way around for me. If I set my phone to ring (loud), I never hear it. Vibrate is the way to go. On the other hand, I keep my phone in my underwear. ← Same here, but I never answer the phone. People know I'll pick up when I'm through. Okay, seriously, I don't own a cell phone.
  23. Chuck Woolery Leonard Feather Harry James
  24. Just call it "Music we don't have proper lables for" and throw it into that weird back room with the jazz and classical. That way the normals don't get frightened...
