  1. I've never been to the site. From reading the posts of those who do, I wouldn't dare...
  2. I thought I felt a hook in my mouth, but I wasn't sure...
  3. No, no...that's the good stuff! I mean the pico de gallo they make. Or is it pico da gallo? Damn spanish...never could figure out that stuff!
  4. Uh oh! I'm no scab; I'm outta here!!
  5. Well, I think one big thing about cilantro is that if it's 'part of the mix', I'm okay with it, but if it stands out as an identifiable flavor, I ain't eatin' it. A little goes a long way. The salsa El Burro in San Jose with cilantro is great; the salsa at Baja Fresh with cilantro blows chunks. So I guess my real complaint is overuse of it. Mmmmmmm....El Burro....drool....
  6. Sorry, but I think cilantro is about the most disgusting herb around. Nothing ruins a great salsa like cilantro...
  7. Happy Birthday...and tell Cat Shatner to do something about those implants!!
  8. Oops; sorry...I just got the notification that it was my turn to make the obligatory 'these comparisons are annoying and we should stop' post. Anyone got any tips on how to write a good one?
  9. Whoa, you missed the boat there; comic books caught shit back in the fifties. Check out histories involving the book Seduction of the Innocent, the Kefauver hearings in Congress and the beloved E.C. comics.
  10. Oops...we're supposed to say why? I picked 16 because of my initials, MDC. It's always been a favorite number.
  11. Ah. Well, you just pop a Cialis with each Paxil and let nature take it's course.. Seriously, the doctor warned me about that and told me we'd switch to another med if it happened, but I didn't notice any change. Of course, I'm not a raving nineteen year old any more either, but what the hey...
  12. You wouldn't be saying that if I'd had chili this week...
  13. I've never heard anyone describe Rosolino as meanspirited before either. Bad example, I'd say.
  14. I'm offended by your post deletion.
  15. Thanks for the opportunity to vote on this one and bring the magnificent 16 up to 16%! Woo hoo!!!
  16. A sense of humour? Does he think we're kidding???
  17. Some of us can multi-task. Come on, only a teenager doing his homework would use that... If you're not devoting your full attention to the music, you're not getting everything out of it you could. Of course, if your the type to take a laptop to a concert...
  18. Minute Rat...the San Francisco Treat! Oops; sorry...that's Rataroni...
  19. Eeep! Old threads never die... Yep; still on the Paxil CR. It hasn't stopped the 'lows' completely, but the worst days are a hell of a lot better than they were before I started taking it. A rare bit of honesty that I may come back and delete later: the best way to see how I'm doing seems to be to watch my posting here. If I'm posting, I'm fine. If the posts are getting few and far between, the depression is back. If I'm calling someone an asshole on the political thread, the depression is still in charge, but improvement is coming fast... So I guess you guys are the first to know, after Barb anyway... Tony, I can't imagine ever wanting to get off of antidepressents, but just changing medication while my doctor was 'experimenting' on me to find the best treatment was bad enough. I've never been worse off than the two days when one med was wearing off and the other hadn't kicked in yet...
  20. I'd rather listen to the music. I have books if I want to read something... This reminds me of a comment someone made here (and I apologize in advance if I offend) about giving a disc a 'serious listen' while reading the liner notes. Sorry, that's not a serious listen any more than listening while reading the newspaper. Concentrate on the music!
  21. And almost a year later, I finally pick up the disc (Strange Place for Snow)... I heard the title cut on the radio a few months ago and put the disc on my want list (or rather wish list; some of these never actually get bought, you know...). I think the descriptions above are pretty much perfect, but must add that I really like this one. It's definitely going to be one of those 'right mood' CDs, but then what isn't. But for a cold, grey stay-at-home day, it's perfect. It seems almost familiar, but with enough surprises to make it interesting. Exciting? No. Just nice and satisfying.
  22. Well I bit and bought Careless Love; heard it all for the first time today. I must say I kind of liked it, once I got past the "channelling Billie" aspect of it, which really stands out in the first track to an extreme.
  23. Hey, it's possible; have you never received a birthday card from him? If so...
  24. Even 30s?? I love this guy!
