  1. "baking in the syrup?" Wait; that's not it...
  2. Interesting writing, Geoff. And I'm sure you've discovered by now that the back-and-forth snarling here has less to do with you than you first thought...
  3. Whoa...they must be popular in the locker room...
  4. I agree, Larry. I'm very skeptical when it comes to mandatory sentencing. This ongoing rush in this country to try juveniles as adults bothers me as well.
  5. You guys are living in the past, just like with the BNBB. It died, it stunk, time to move on. Besides, this board is better! What's it called again?
  6. Sounds like a good store! To the gloves I'd add a nice tightfitting watchcap, if your wardrobe allows. The overwhelming majority of heat loss on the human body is throught the head, this will help curb that loss.
  7. I certainly hope those who believe we now have a level playing field read this one, Chris...
  8. Yeah; eliminate your "internet files" once in a while as well. Really makes a difference.
  9. You guys talking about the one out by the cement pond puttin' the moves on the parrot?
  10. No offense intended, but this is a pretty funny slip ... or it might explain a lot! (Check Webster's ... I think you were aiming for "well coiffed.") With some music, it can't hurt...
  11. Have they blocked Greg yet?
  12. Hmmm...that one's kinda creepy, Jim!
  13. I thought it was "in the morning, I'll be parrot, and you'll still be ugly!"
  14. ...followed by the obligatory "you fucking Nazi bastard!"
  15. Well, I finished up, and I must say I'm impressed. Can't wait to see it again! I thought for sure you guys were rating this one way too high, but maybe not. We'll see if I agree in ten or fifteen more viewings. I'll say this: I didn't think anything they did could top Fargo, but I was wrong. Only distracting moment: I kept looking for Dana Carvey whenever the nihilists were talking... I can understand why I thought you guys were too high on it, though. Thinking back over the movie, if someone described the thing too me perfectly, I don't think it would sound that good. It just seems too ludicrous. But while watching it, it worked. Amazing...
  16. Today's DVD purchase, strictly on the basis of recommendations from this board (and the BNBB, of course): The Big Lebowski. Never saw it before. I'm only half way through the movie, but I had to take a break. My god, my ribs hurt, my face is aching...I'm laughing myself into an early grave. This has got to be the funniest fucking movie I have ever seen!
  17. This article makes me think...with the success of Norah Jones, and the Oh, Brother Where Art Thou? soundtrack, maybe the music industry will wake up and realize that the people don't want another underage hooker, menacing street punk, or angst-ridden heroin addict as their next star. Maybe they'll realize that people are more interested in good music than glitz and glamour. Maybe they'll realize that...wait a minute; my pipe's empty. Let me pack another bowl and I'll continue...
  18. You know, one of these days I'm going to have to start writing down who is who around here. I sure kulu se mama has told us before that he was rries on the BNBB, but I never remember this stuff. Every time someone around here mentions their BNBB handle, it's a complete shock to me, even if they just did it last month... By the way, everyone knows I was Greg over there, right?
  19. Isn't she someone's daughter?
  20. I must admit I'm curious about the put downs WNMC is getting here, with the implications that this is a silly discussion topic not to be bothered with. Out of curiosity, exactly where on the silly/seriousness scale does this topic rank? Is it above or below the Babe thread? Higher or lower than Hello Kitty? Just wondering, but I certainly understand no one wishing to bring sophomoric discussion to such a serious and scholarly place as the Organissimo Bulletin Board!

    Jimmy Smith

I'm sure many will disagree, but I enjoy this one more than The Sermon or House Party, the other two CDs I own. At least I reach for it more often than the other two. And yes, I know I should get more, but for some reason, Jimmy Smith brings out my "if I buy it, it'll be remastered next week" fear, which doesn't occur with any other artist. Can't explain it...
  22. Well, I'm certainly for it, Chris, since it's already there and I use it regularly... It's at the bottom of the thread list in each forum on the right hand side.
  23. what are you, Brer Moose? There's just something about running at top speed knowing that somebody's antlers are about that far from your ass that makes ya nervous, ya know?
  24. I knew we'd eventually find something to agree on!
  25. Speaking of nukes, I don't remember the name of that TV movie about terrorists setting off an nuke (in South Carolina, if I remember right) again. Anyone remember that? Sort of made like a TV newscast and all?
