  1. Hey, that's beautiful, Scott! Congratulations!
  2. Dr. J is Tony Jerant? I'll be damned...I've got to start keeping a scorecard!
  3. Aggie-True Romance was yesterday's "feature" at the Moose House! Story and dialog wise, it's right there with the ones he made himself in my opinion. Not quite as stylized in the filming, but it's a lot of fun. (And yeah, Reservior Dogs was the day before that; I guess I got on a QT 'kick' this week, but unfortunately that's it; I never picked up, or even saw, Jackie Brown. Tell me how much I'm missing so I'll get off my ass!) alejo-I'm not much on this latest trend of picking up various TV series to line my shelf with (although Bullwinkle, Mr. Bean, Twin Peaks and the Simpsons somehow ended up there. Hmm.), but I'll gladly pony up for my favorite sitcom of my youth! I just hope Barney Miller holds up to my memory! I'll certainly gamble on one season of it in hopes!
  4. The only Peter Green I've heard was the early Mac stuff, and I couldn't stand it. Made Clapton sound great, in my opinion, although I've never been a Clapton fan. (And is anyone really using that "Clapton is God" line still? I thought that disappeared shortly after Derek and the Dominos! Now that album had some fine guitar. Clapton has never been more masterful! Amazing stuff!! What? That was Duane Allman? Oh well... )
  5. Wow! And not on the Political Forum, either! Glad to see you're still around, and Happy New Year as well!
  6. Hmm. I just turned off the DVD player myself after watching Pulp Fiction one more time. I must admit, I like that movie more each time I see it, but as with other Tarrantino films I've seen, it would have been better if he had stayed behind the camera!
  7. You think you're so damned clever! We could tell someone had been in here while we were gone! My Grachan Moncur CDs were mixed up with the Thelonious Monk CDs! Uh...did you see any keys while you were here..?
  8. Our slogan used to be "Welcome to California; now go home", but then we found out that people from Washington and Oregon hate us more than we hate others, and dropped it out of embarrassment....
  9. Wow...a tough call to narrow it down; I'm new enough at this that I learn every time I come here, but I'll mention Dan Gould and J.A.W. for their help in allowing me to hear music that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to hear.
  10. I think ours is.. CALIFORNIA: Like, what was I talking about, man?
  11. We have a "plot" in the backyard. However, one of my cats, Godzilla, is now resting at the Bubbling Well Pet Memorial Park, made famous in the oddball movie Gates of Heaven. Talk about strange brushes with fame...
  12. Me too. The obvious early seventies stuff. Okay, technically it belongs to the wife, but I listen as well...
  13. The hill or the beans?
  14. Okay, now that I see Patricia as the last poster here, it looks like one of DEEP's threads...
  15. How offensive! Thank goodness he didn't go as low as to say it would be "number one on the tit parade"....
  16. Doubt it would make any difference, Johnny. People like you are already actively opposed to Bush and the Republicans. You're votes and actions are already tabulated in the "against" side of the ledger. So, really, your actions don't amount to a hill of beans. Why waste a New Year's resolution on that? Still, I don't mean to criticize the resolutions of others, so, good luck! Hell, it's his hill, and his beans, so what the fuck...
  17. Auditory Integration Training
  18. Right on! Another member of the League of December Birthdays!! One day we will rise up and conquer the world. First on the agenda: moving Christmas to July so someone else gets screwed for a change!! Up against the wall, summer babies! Uh...I mean, Happy Birthday, Tony!
  19. What creeps me out is knowing that someone here is probably reading this and thinking "what a cool pet!"
  20. What? That's not a vice, it's a lifestyle!
  21. Whew! That's a relief!
  22. Well, that pretty much nails it, Brandon, so I see no need to apologize. These "is so-and-so jazz" conversations are pretty odd anyway, but Vince Guaraldi??
  23. I'd say Skunk #1 is probably a safe bet, but try a few and make your own choice. Just make sure you avoid tobacco!
  24. What?? Add A Scanner Darkly, or I'll never speak to any of you for five minutes! (I have trouble holding grudges; sorry...) Wasn't the abyssmal The Running Man based on a Dick story? I can't remember which, so I'm not sure. But I gotta tell you, if someone had told me years ago when I was first reading his stuff that they'd be making movies of his works, I'd have laughed in your obviously insane face...
  25. Well...the clue makes perfect sense now, but you could have been even more obvious, and I'd have never guessed that! Wow...
