  1. Wow! She was a cutie in high school; what happened?
  2. I'm not much on fast food anyway; I think I've been to KFC once in the last ten years. If we're organizing a boycott, I don't think they'll notice me missing...
  3. Oh come on, Chris don't be such a boo--wait a minute...

I agree! We've dropped the bit with the gasoline, matches and slingshots, and we've decided to suspend the 24 hour forced Kenny G. marathon, pending the outcome of Aftab's lawsuit...
  7. I'm stunned, Chuck...but not too stunned to email!
  8. Alright! Good to see another BNBB refugee make it here! Wow, I wonder how many more of the names we're missing just plain don't know we're here??
  9. I think I stick to this board more than AAJ or Jazzcorner for several reasons. First, this one feels more like the BNBB where I first got hooked on this jazz board stuff just because it's dominated by exBNBBers. Second, I have a lot of "emotional investment" in this board. I remember posting like mad when the board was first getting going out of fear that someone would show up, see no new posts, and decide the board wasn't going to make it. Third, while the board is now established, the crowd is small enough that I can actually keep up with everything. AAJ is just too big for me to keep up with all the posts, and Jazzcorner probably is as well, although their "world's slowest software" means I wouldn't be able to read everything anyway... At this point, this is home. I don't see that changing anytime soon, no matter who begs!
  10. I still count mine; they haven't all fallen out yet...

  12. Wow...so much for that "no trade barriers in the EU" bit we keep reading about in our American newspapers, eh?

  17. Anybody here remember the song "Rock Me Amadeus" by Falco? Well, here's the reason you never, ever use eBay's spellchecker... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=43715

  19. That's the most boring definition of cleavage I've ever read. Otherwise, cool stuff!
  20. Both are plastic. Mylar is a trademarked name for a polyester film that is chemically inert. Polypropylene is a plastic similar to polyethylene, but with a higher melting point, etc. Supposedly it is superior to polyethylene for archival purposes, but not in the class of Mylar. Polyethylene is the cheapest of the three and reacts in just a few years of contact with paper acid to turn green, rubbery, sticky...well, I just don't like it okay? Here's an interesting link to get you started on figuring this all out... Polypropylene
  21. More nominations to add... New: Pat Metheny: One Quiet Night Jason Moran: The Bandwagon Jessica Williams: All Alone Reissues: The Complete Verve Gerry Mulligan Concert Band Sessions
  22. Oh. My. God. He takes PayPal??
  23. Hey, he said "for better or worse", not "for better or really, REALLY bad"!
  24. Oops! Tony, your post reminds me...I forgot that so many Brits were on board here. I assume (or hope) you all know that the word "scheme" is meant in a negative way over here! Hence my use of it in this thread...
  25. Uh...check the date on that post, Paul; I'm pretty sure that was "pre-hissy fit"...
