  7. I know it's pretty obvious, I've seen that in NYC for years, I don't know how I missed it here in my own neighborhood.
  8. I'd like to see this, parts of this were filmed right here in my neighborhood - as in a few blocks away. If they really did film at the library, well...that's next door and I missed all the action. I was probably sitting here at the computer at the time, oblivious to Hollywood doing it's thing outside. dB
  9. George Perle, 1915-2009 dB
  10. A reminder that several weeks ago Jim asked us not to post entire articles here due to copyright reasons. It's okay to post 2-3 sentences, after that just provide the link. Aside from keeping the band out of trouble it'll save space too. Come on....no one really has issues with it. I've seen moderators do it and/or even comment on a post that wasn't edited.

I have Mother Tounge and it reminds me of Steve Coleman with Dave Holland. I'm not too familiar with other M-Base music. I think I'll get Kinsman this week.
  14. I've heard a lot of North Indian classical music at home concerts. dN
  15. Non-profit university/school (whatever you want to call 'em) stations would be the best place to look. WPRB has an avant classical program on Wed. mornings. I haven't heard it in a while. dB
  16. You might ask here: ihatemusic. WARNING: they can be humorless and irritable. dB
  17. Somehow I missed this thread, but I'm glad I found it. Sheet...this is goot stuff!
  18. Blessed Relief (dadgad guitar cover)
  19. Frisco is quite specific: I don't think Frisco is describing easy listening.
  20. On weekday mornings, WKCR also has classical programming. I tune in when I can to see if there's anything interesting. Too bad all their classical programming is during the weekday - normal working hours.
  21. Happy Birthday dood!
  22. I share an office with an idiot with a TV. On Thursday afternoon at 4pm, he was fascinated by the news coverage of this event. On Friday, he was pissed off because a news conference by Mayor Bloomberg was preempting Jerry Springer. dB
  23. 13º, they're predicting 9º. dB
