  2. Wow, I wouldn't mind having that!
  3. Eyebrows, he called it. The Perfect Stranger with Boulez conducting is great too. Earlier Classical Zappa I've grown less thrilled with, although I really like the percussion on the LSO album & I love his Synclavier computer music too. I think Bev is looking for something less obvious. Lou Harrison is worth checking out...I only have a small chunk of his work. Highly melodic. I'll have to give this one some more thought.
  4. Sounds like the virus that hit my Dads computer in Sept....I reformatted the machine and re-installed XP again. (I just did it the previous week.) .

Young too. I knew him from Pelt. They used to hang out with some friends of mine.

I'd like to know more...I hung out with him a few times. .
  9. East Jersey State Prison in Avenel, NJ. Nice try Allen.
  10. I guess we just don't know the real we.
  11. Maybe I should stop at that RT. 22 store and see what's going on there. .
  12. http://www.allenlowe.com/ Pretty embarrassing looking web site Allen. Why don't you put some of that excess energy into fixing that and setting up a blog?
  13. I'd like to be there, it doesn't look like I can make it. Enjoy yerself! *
  14. Pretty much my response too.
  15. Sounds like something I want, want, want. Maybe after New Years...
  16. All this talk of amps...since I can't carry heavy things for now, I don't have any of my tube amps near the computer. I've been using a Line 6 POD with a Peavy keyboard amp when I hang at the "office". Over by the TV, I'm still using the '67 Bassman head with a Hotplate and a 12" ported cabinet. On Friday I'm giving a lesson (!) and I'll have to bring a Pro Jr. because it's small. For jams with a keyboard player at a coffee shop (@Rutgers Newark) I use his Roland Cube modeling amp into his keyboard amp so I all I have to carry is my guitar, a chord and a Real Book.
  17. and I'm not playing rock with my Tele, I like that clean neck p/u tone. edit: I'd save the Strat for rock, but I don't have the rock 'n' rolls these days...ain't feeling it. .
  18. Check that out! I'm just getting around to checking out his Jazz Guitar Mastery DVD (Mel Bay). I was playing the Godin at the store this afternoon again, the solidbody with nylon strings. I don't have the cash, but I'll have to sell a Strat and get one soon. I think Strats unclicked when I started playing Teles! There's something about Teles...maybe it because they don't have a hole in the body where the Strat has a whammy bar mounted on springs. Better tone for me.
  19. Sounds like a good deal! I tried out some PRS gtrs for the first time last Summer...felt nice. They have an "in between" scale length of 25". Fenders generally have 25.5" and Gibson are more like 24.75". .
  20. I see there's a used non-cut away Kingpin for $499 in Queens. A few years ago I would have impulsively taken the day off and checked it out. Probably would have bought it too at that price. Where did you buy it?
  21. I always shoehorned those into the glam rock category myself. Nah...even then Eno was too arty for Rock 'n' Roll. .
  22. I didn't hear a word she said...I did like how she said them though. !
  23. Doesn't really matter now...I got to keep my leg! I don't remember what I actually paid for visits. I was too toasted on meds at the time. .
  24. That's great news! When I had an operation on my leg 13 years ago, I saw the full cost when they pulled up my account on the CRT. Something like $65,000 in 1996. I wonder what it would be now. .
