I'm with you. I mean, how wrong can you go with those two but we're not all the same. If I'm checking someone out or a recording date I don't know, I'm heading to You Tube. That answers mostly everything these days.

I don't quite agree with the above advice. Chronological markers are indicia of a certain style. For example, for me, 50s to mid 60s Miles do represent a certain style that I like. Later Miles doesn't do it for me. I could probably think of other artists that fit into this mold. I'm sure others will disagree naturally.

Finished this. A good commentary on the British school system. Not a spy book, more of a murder mystery. I hope you don’t take offense but the Home Depot story sounds rather depressing.

I only looked at the top 100. I just looked at the next 100. I find it even stranger that Bird’s Verve recordings are not in that group, unless I missed it. At any rate, I agree with Chuck. Make your own list, although the list is a useful guide.

I just looked over the top 100 list twice and didn’t see those mentioned.

Generally, I agree with Georghe. You could do worse than this list and for an incipient fan, it’s a good guide to what to listen to. I thought Leapin and Loping and Cornbread were unusual additions, not that they’re fine albums. I would have thought the list included a Jimmy Smith album or some of Bird’s Verve recordings.

MLB 2018: let the games begin!

He doesn't have much left, having watched some Angels games this year. My son is an Angels fan and wasn't sorry to see him go. If they needed a 2B, why didn't they make a move on Cabrera before the Mets traded him to the Phillies. -

When I see something I want, I don’t bid until the last five seconds and I give it my best shot. If I win great, if not, I knew I bid what I thought it was worth to me and I have no regrets. -
I didn’t know that, plus I got the title wrong. It’s Bud on Bach. Larry, do you have more information on the song?
-
Practically any Bird solo but I will settle for Koko. Bud Plays Bach is darned special, for me anyway.

They're only 4 back in the loss column so don't give up hope yet.
