Good news for baseball fans

Don't know if I mentioned this on the other thread on Gary but on Friday Strawberry said he wished he had lived his life like Carter's. Gooden also said that the last time he and Gary talked a couple of months, Carter told him to keep fighting. On the airwaves, fans told stories about how they met Carter at this or that occasion and how Gary spent time at length talking to them. It was obvious, as some one said, that he not only had a hall of fame career but that he lived a hall of fame live. The impact that he had on ordinary fans' lives was quite remarkeable.

I like the feel of a book and being able to turn to the notes, etc. I can see having an ereader if you go on a long trip. At any rate, I would get this in pdf, ereader no. I suppose it's on a Kindle only so the publisher can save on costs.

As a Mets fan, we knew this was inevitable when it was announced that he had inoperable tumors but it hurts nonetheless and reminds us all of when we were younger and makes us today feel a bit more mortal. In 1986, the Mets made a video called Let's Go Mets!, probably because they saw how well the Bears did with theirs in 1985. Anyway it was a big hit. I still have it in VHS and listen to it once in a while. Don't know if it's ever come out on DVD. Someone played it last night on the air and it brought back memories.

If soggy weather favors a good running game, the obvious advantage goes to the Niners because the Giants can't run the ball even in good weather.
