New Jersey. Where Money Is the Only Thing.
Spoken like a true Pennsylvanian, a state I'm glad to leave as soon as I can, not to mention the home to bad sports teams (at least in Philadelphia )
And they're barely a .500 team, with the Marlins about to pass them. That merits MVP? The MVP is Beltran. Howard may the best player. MVP? Not exactly.
I live in NJ and there are some great parts to this state that you jokers wouldn't recognize and while there are not so great parts, what state doesn't have them?
Fully in agreement with Hans' recs.
For me Aftermath is their greatest album, followed by Between the Buttons. All of the early pre 65 is good too. Particularly Red Rooster. That was the first time I'd ever heard that.
Goin' Home on Aftermath ranks up there for me.
Not mentioned here but Their Satanic Majesties Request while ok was just a Sgt. Pepper clone, not really worth buying.
Funny you should mention it, cuz Bernie and Waymon sound like musical soulmates. How long before we get a collaboration?
I wonder if John Stirling (voice of the Yankees) likes Bernie's cd? I can hear it now "Burn, Bernie, burn."
I think the question is who is the most influential musician of all time. I couldn't pick one, I'd have to pick three: Armstrong, Duke and Parker. I believe they changed our music the most.
I tell you I wasn't too happy for the Met fans rooting for Utley's streak to end. I would have liked to see it continue. It would have been something if he could have gotten past Rose's 44 so he just had 12 games to go.
I saw the Marlins the last few nights as they were playing the Mets. If they hadn't gotten off to such a terrible start -- people were picking them to lose over 100 -- who know what kind of race we'd have. A very excting team. Next year should be interesting in the NL East.
