  1. Listening to disc 2 of the Illinois Jacquet to hear Emmett Berry.
  2. The set that I'd like to see released is the John Hammond produced Vanguard sessions.
  3. This is my story as well.
  4. Ronnie Mathews is what I keep replaying on this set, but there are so many things well done on this box that it is easy to overlook, say, Arnett Cobb's session.
  5. Hello, I do have a Mosaic promo of sorts: the excellent Jackie McLean box. Where the set's individual number would have been hand printed, it instead says Jazziz indicating that it was part of some promotion run by the magazine of the same name.
  6. I too prefer CD's, but I assumed that it was download or nothing on the Savory releases. Since each release has really been in my wheelhouse, I've purchased them all. Now I have pre-ordered the Mosaic set (always my preference) and feel as if I've been taken for a (short) ride as it were.
  7. Thanks for posting this. I hadn't listened to the Smithsonian Collection in 40 years-although this newer version sports a slightly different track selection, it is excellent. I found the juxtaposition of Fletcher Henderson, Red Nichols, and Bennie Moten stimulating.
  8. While investigating this title over at Amazon, I noticed that they have the The Gerald Wilson Pacific Jazz Mosaic set available as a download. I recognize that this might not be the correct thread for this question, but are there many Mosaic downloads available or is this an anomaly?
  9. Mosaic Records once accidentally sent me the complete Herbie Nichols on Blue Note and a Chet Baker box. Of course this was quite while back....
  10. My very recently ordered Bing Crosby set arrived yesterday. I admit that I probably would not have ordered this had Mosaic Records not been on the ropes, but I am finding it somewhat revelatory and much to my liking.
  11. Hello- I got a shipping notification on the Bing Crosby yesterday.
  12. Responding to Mosaic's email reporting the uncertainty of their future, I ordered the two sets that I do not own: Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney. I would rather have ordered the proposed Teddy Wilson but thought that ordering these was to some extent "doing my part."
  13. Keno Duke/Contemporaries Crest of the Wave and Sense of Values. I love these mid seventies records for the tandem work of George Coleman, Harold Mabern, and Frank Strozier.
  14. Thanks to this discussion, I have reexamined the Onzy Matthews set and have a much more favorable impression of it than upon my initial exposure.
  15. Dizzy Reece from the Beehive set and, through associated listening, the Dizzy Reece Mosaic Select.
