  1. Here's the Faye Carol reocrd/CD: https://www.amazon.com/Flow-Faye-Carol/dp/B000000NBX
  2. Long shot here, but Black/Note - L.A. Underground...definitely released on Red, but see this: But then, this: http://www.redrecords.it/item.aspx?id=170&tipo=releases&lang=ENG I don't know...sounds like label pimping and/or willfull-ish "ignorance" to me. The All Music Guide cites Judgement as having been released on World Stage Records. It is the same recording as that released on RED, for whom I credit with the first release.
  3. http://www.cduniverse.com/sresult.asp?style=music&HT_Search=xlabel&HT_Search_Info=WORLD+STAGE Charles McPherson - Illusions In Blue The original issue, possibly? ........................................................................................................................................ http://www.sffcm.org/jazz/the-dynamic-miss-faye-carol-the-faye-carol-quartet/ Faye Carol's career has included recording with the late drummer Billy Higgins and bassist Marcus Shelby (Flow on World Stage Records) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faye_Carol Year Title Genre Label 1996 The Flow (with Kito Gamble Trio) Jazz World Stage; reissued on Noir (1998)

  5. I like this. It's not "great", but it's...not asshole-y. Some are, ya' know. Interesting (enough) interview here: http://www.bruceduffie.com/read3.html
  6. Pianist/Singer, gots that PUNCH, LOOK OUT RED!!!
  7. I'm holding out hope that it goes that way, but this year's Rangers are playing up to expectations almost as much as last year's Rangers exceeded them.
  8. ECM seems to be on a quiet (of course) roll the last few years.
  9. Listened to it 2X yesterday, after some Janacek & some UCLA Mingus. It was the highlight of the day, actually. That was a damn good day. If I was younger, I'd listen to it non-stop for the next month or so, It's that strong, that substantial.
  10. Already nuts here, just in general, but whatever it is or isn't, if it's "Neophilia", that's how you spell it.
  11. and Hardimon Cureton thanks YOU!
  12. Gotten totally hung up on Disc 3 of this, which includes Mladi, Cappricio,Concertino Pohadka, & Presto. Such delightful music, full of surprises at every turn. Janacek was a baaaaaaad man!
  13. No, I meant to post it in the "What Are You Maybe Missing About Mosaic Now?" thread, but I couldn't find it. Perhaps you can be a pal and find it for me?
  14. I never knew about the Carmen Leggio Mighty Quinn release. Looking forward to getting it. Leggio was (is? RIP or no?) a fine, fine player.
  15. What's maybe being missed is Cuscuna's, and particularly Wenzel's with the older stuff, race against time to get comprehensive, perhaps definitive, issues of so many things into the digital domain for posterity. I'm sure they realize that not a lot of people are going to buy this stuff right away, but they also realize that once they put it out, it'll stay there in some form or fashion for perpetuity, or at least as long as a digital media paradigm will have it's perpetuity.
  16. Ray Nance & Carmen Leggio Mighty Quinn Singles are back in stock, but good luck finding them through the main site! http://www.mosaicrecords.com/discography.asp?number=LEGGC01&price=$9.98&copies=1%20CD http://www.mosaicrecords.com/prodinfo.asp?number=NANCR01
  17. They have a pretty staunch fan base, of which I am not, nor ever have been, a member. But people who like them like them a lot, and they do ok, businesswise. No shortage of locations or airtime.
  18. Belated RIP. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/04/arts/music/kelan-philip-cohran-a-musician-who-invigorated-chicago-with-education-and-activism-dies-at-90.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fobituaries&action=click&contentCollection=obituaries&region=rank&module=package&version=highlights&contentPlacement=2&pgtype=sectionfront What a legacy indeed.
