4. Le Chat Qui Pêche..literally translated as "the cat who fishes", right? Does it have a more..."idiomatic" meaning than that in common usage, like, is it a metaphor for something else? Always wondered about that... And Maurice Cullaz - any relation to Alby Cullaz who played w/Hank on The Flip?
5. Dames racks are like that.
6. Nope, Keith knew his limits. Referring to that he once said "I never turned blue in somebody else's bathroom." A bit smug, perhaps (and is it really true?), but never underestimate the power of "professional pride", even in matters such as this.

8. Wow, that's pretty ECM-ish!

12. Dude.. where/how did you find that?
13. In the old days, you had to pay money to see comedy of that caliber. Now you can't give it away. World gone wrong...
14. Yeah, I was actually sitting down to look at prices for a used copy, and that was when it hit me...
15. Went to look for Tenorman today, and of course looked in the James Clay section. NOT THERE. Panic. Fear. Depression. Suicidal thoughts. Oh yeah, that's right...

Of that, no harm can come!

19. It did get to be a schtick of sorts, but only when he used it in lieu of actually having something to say with it. Of course, you can say that about almost anybody...
20. Like the wasteful/senseless death of Kenny Kirkland, I'm a lot more mad than I am sad... don't know that I heard "greatness" in her, but there was definitely a sense of great potential that kept me interested (she had a great voice for broken-beat remixes, for whatever that's worth, and I was hoping that at some point she might engage the idiom directly...see below & imagine a live, engaged & energetic Winehouse working that groove...wow...)), at least until she made it clear that she herself had other priorities. Oh well, here's to life going on.
21. Ditto for me if it's the other way around! Are you old enough to remember the "pass the word, the chicks are back" Carter Hall pipe tobacco commercial? That's what came to my mind.
