  1. A version of Cop Out made it out on Festival Seedion There was also a 45 of it.
  2. The Aardvark Kiddie Fascist Avant-Garde Jazz Acid Rock Combo - Gladewater, 1972 Have you ever been to Bozeman's Pond?
  3. Does it have "The Sky Fell Down"?
  4. The last record made by Bell/Stewart was pretty damn "Southern". Johnnie Taylor was Southern as fuck. His offices were for decades in Dallas, Southern Dallas, about a six hour drive to Jackson. When the bus was running, not far at all. I20 almost all the way.
  5. The Staple Singers were damage? Wattstax was damage?
  6. The Koontary Sisters - Inky Dinky Dinky Doo (Tell Your Momma What To Do) b/w Making Babies In The Well (Promise Me That You Won't Tell)
  7. Tuffney had muscle on the ground in Belgium. He womped THAT womp, for sure.
  8. All of Bobby's BN output is on Spotify. He's quite well represented overall, actually!
  9. No Montara, Natural Illusions, or Linger Lane. Both Now and Head On are also going to end up as Mosaic Orphans. The first group I get. They're unabashedly commercial projects. The second one...not so much. They're not at all commercial. Now acts like it is, but it's not, not really. Imo.
  10. We bought some kind of chip like that from HEB a few weeks ago, and yes, please, more of that!
  11. But that was unauthorized, that cut was. That Dez Markham guy was a crook.
  12. I've been listening to Medina/Spiral on Spotify for my falling asleep music for a couple of weeks now. That might seem counter-intuitive, but no, in the process the details become very vivid and enjoyable. Personally, I think that Stanley Cowell overall brings more to the table of this particular band than did Chick Corea on Total Eclipse, but that's not a knock on Chick, not at all.
  13. That's the one!!! 🤠👁️‍🗨️
  14. Tuffney Cell - Wompin' That Womp!!!
  15. I don't mind the library selling the odd things I donate to them. They put the proceeds to good use.
  16. An opportunity to get new players was also an opportunity to reduce the payroll. This is not an original observation btw.
  17. b/w Because horses talk by prancing and judges talk by horsing (around).
  18. I like this one:
  19. I'd wager that it's probably already worse than we know!
  20. I don't think so. He had ambitions and was achieving them until he got the rug pulled out from under him, first by CBS,k then by Union Planters. I've searched in vain to find any indication that his real error was doing anything other than pushing back against CBS when they sought to unilaterally renegotiate a contract. That might have been foolish, but it was noble, imo. The Union Planters affair was a sham, the bank screwing over the company to cover their own ass. Exoneration of Bell came, but only after the assets had all been seized. I find it interesting (and valedictory) that he eventually went to work for Barry Gordy when Gordy was navigating the sale of Motown to MCA.
