  1. Superb reading of the words, w/verse intact, and what sounds like a Nelson Riddle slow-build arrangement:
  2. Indeed it is, and True Blue did not send me the email (at least not yet), so, Sale CDU.
  3. The set that will not be discounted! Has to happen sometime, doesn't it?? One can only hope...
  4. Ok, I'll have that email waiting on me when I get home. Carpe diem indeed!
  5. I'll be all over this like white on rice if I can find out where to get it. Any leads? Warner is one of the all-time giants, and what his pop did in the furtherance of the popularity of football cannot be overestimated.
  6. Any good deals on the Mingus/Debut box to be had?
  7. Infinite variations under infinite titles to be found by Lee Konitz/Warne Marsh/Lennie Tristano/etc. I like Jackie Paris' version too, if you want to hear a singer do it.
  8. Either that or else there would have been a massive slave revolt not put down by the USA, which would have led to a true African-American nation which would have spared us from the degradations resulting from all the endless soulless I-vi-ii-V variations and all the other moral & creative lynchings we've been forced to endure at the hands of "the music industry" all these years... Think of it Allen - one more degree of separation between you and the music you live through/by/off of/etc. Of course, that is all contingent upon the racist white North not coming to the aid of the racist white South to put it all down, and anybody who thinks that that wouldn't have happened don't know white people and power very well...
  9. I could give a very short, and none-too-complicated response, but why bother?
  10. No, this is New York City, where everybody and everything is SPECIAL ALL THE TIME!!! 20th Century FOREVER!!! (apologies in advance to any and all NYC-ers who honestly maintain the old & for-real used-to-be in the face of the insurmountable and the inevitable)
  11. Are the spots of a personal nature?
  12. This is the face of an (alleged) weasel:
  13. What's not to like, really?
  14. ...and not all "listeners" are "hearers"... certainly nothing wrong with that, but it's a mistake to think that everybody hears everything that is in the music they listen to, even over time...again, nothing wrong with that, and one could easily make the case that the immediate, visceral response to any music is what one keep coming back to over time (eventually), but I'm going to have to respectfully laugh at the notion that "collector" = "listener", much less that "serious collector" = "seriosu listener", at least automatically. Truth be told, some of the best "hearers" I've ever heard are basically "anti-collectors"! They hear it, get it, and proceed accordingly.
  15. Make a bid by midnight tonite CST, and the roasty goodness of salted Series peanuts can be yours!
  16. You haven't read the notes to Unit Structures, have you...
  17. A fine idea, Dave. But my current schedulistical commitments unfortunately preclude such a sortie. Let's consider this a wholesale operation then...
  18. I found a totally trashed copy of a Janet Jackson CD in the field behind my house. Brought it home, washed the dirt off, and it played flawlessly. That Janet Jackson is tough.
  19. If there are no other bids before the auction closes, an even grand will bring the peanuts home. To you.
  20. These are the peanuts that saw the Giants win their first World Series since 1954, and the Rangers lose their first World Series EVER!!! Peanuts still in original packaging w/MLB logo. "Slight" tear in cellophane, but package is still intact overall. Here's your chance to own a piece of American history. The reserve is set at a low, low, "how can I not buy THAT?!?!?!" price of $1300.00. Auction expires at midnight tomorrow, CST, so CARPE DIEM!
  21. Nor to me, but so say the captions...
  22. That's said to be Lew's wife Starla Caldwell, perhaps seen to more attractive advantage here: http://www.robertaonthearts.com/specialEvents/idSE04.html Lew would, I'm supposing, be the guy in the aviator glasses.
