  1. Maybe there is? Discogs pictures insist on it but I have no recollection of it being on that Everest record. But this does sound familiar from somewhere: So I guess it is there but just didn't take for whatever reason. Maybe "Weaver Of Dreams" just obliterated it
  2. I heard "Weaver ...' in high school, back when these things ran rampant: My next version was the Limelight LP, which, dare I say it, was not more enjoyable due to it's being complete. But..."The Tune Of The Hickory Stick"...no, no such thing, not on this record.
  3. Coltrane allegedly knew every song. And "Weaver..." is a good one
  4. Jack Tracy? Throw in "Weaver Of Dreams". It was literally decades before I heard another version of that, and then it was a vocal. One more reason I should have paid attention to singers before I did. "Stars..." Is a bit of a classic, imo. I've yet to meet a "bop" altoist who can't play it at least in part! "Limehouse..." is sort of a "Sweet Georgia Brown" running of the cycle thing that used to be a popular way to show off the chops in a show-offy way, so with these two guys up front, hey. Producers gotta produce.
  5. That's a good record. Found this attractive and unusually structured tune when reevaluating Waiting:
  6. I guessed the wrong George Lewis on the wrong track.
  7. Adam Dock - Sober and Dissatisfied
  8. Stalli Remuda - Buckin' Hard!!!
  9. Souper Campbell - Condensed!!!
  10. Bobby Hutcherson Select on Spotify.
  11. Nico von Rico - Tico! Tico!! Tico!!!
  12. It's like half-ass AI 70s ECM or something.
  13. They were married. How did THAT happen?
  14. Bob Slatt - Slatt Delivers!!!
  15. Welllll.... What I'd like to know is how did Bill Russo & Shelby Davis hook up?
  16. Your thoughts? Sometimes it seems that the marimba enabled him a more "hyper" rush of notes, but maybe that's why he chose marimba for those pieces, to get that ease to articulate those types of ideas. Cause or effect?
  17. Chevy was high.
  18. Shelby Davis was married for a while to Bill Russo, so...do the math on #11.
  19. Discogs photos are usually worth checking out. You never know what yo will find!
  20. Track Eleven:
  21. Merk Steele - Flubotomy!!!
  22. Did I just hear Plas Johnson on Varitone?!?!?!?
  23. Yeah, thanks for the tips!
