  1. I bought that Mosaic back in the day, on vinyl. Not convenient today!!! Also have the 2Lp Nostalgia In Times Square. I will still play LPs, but only if I have to. Pain in the ass!!!!
  2. Yeah, not great penetration into this market. It was a surprisingly large catalog too.
  3. Mahler live is the right thing to do!!!
  4. PN sent I believe this mirrors the Mosaic box, But this is CD, much more convenient.
  5. Seager is hitting again. Rangers have won three in a row. The air is ripe with hope that the team is starting to stabilize. Good luck to hope!
  6. I don't seem to be able to find them with any ease. Too bad.
  7. Super chilling super-slows the metabolism!!! 🤩
  8. It took me awhile to "get" it. But I finally did. I would now substitute "super chill" for "sleepy".
  9. Sorta, yeah, but it's ultimately a good record, and obscure enough that it will be a battle I will pick. Just play the damn record!!! Hell yeah.
  10. Are original Moers easy to come by over there?
  11. I think I would have expected some of his judgements to have been made by a kid.
  12. Zevvers is older than I would have figured. For some reason that bothers me?
  13. Is that Ray Bryant on the cover?
  14. Producers produce, up to and including suggesting material. That's part of their job. "Forcing" or the implication thereof is too strong a world, especially none of those records even come close to sucking. BTW - when Grant came back to BN, after Lion had left, he went HARD away from "straight ahead" jazz.
  15. Well, maybe, maybe not. But...I'm just curious why you would do something like this. I'm sure some people do, and I'm sure they have good reason for it. My "notes" have always been mental, but maybe there's a better way? Well, not ALWAYS. When I dubbed a lot of cassettes from friends, I kept several volumes of spiral-bound index cards on which I wrote every imaginable detail about the record. Still refer back to those once in a blue moon for catalog number, recording date, etc. And those of use who shared burns back in the day remember the "common courtesy" of providing cover art of some sort with the disc itself. But these days...files, and if you need info to go with it past what's on the file, it's out there. And if it's not, you can ask and you'll usually receive. But that's not what you have in mind, right?

  17. I'm old enough to remember his days at UCLA and the culture clash between him and John Wooten. Two greats who were polar opposites in almost every way except for winning basketball games. Those were the days,!
  18. I think that's an alto? Ira Gitler played alto.
  19. Dee Dee Bridgewater is still in good shape, vocally and otherwise. Saw here at the Detroit Jazz Festival last year and came away impressed, vocally and otherwise. Happy Birthday indeed!
  20. Not on any of the albums I've heard. They were popular on one of the blogs from The Golden Age Of The Blogosphere, but by no means was it complete. Plus, there's singles from St. Louis. https://www.discogs.com/artist/1433721-Quartette-Trés-Bien It was a somewhat interesting group, in a really niche-y kind of way. Commercial, but not stupid. At least not always.
  21. Former(?) radical too! I was MUCH a fan. Throw it down big man!!!!!!
  22. Slate Winston - Caught In A Rundown!!!
