  1. Have his Caedmon records been reissued?
  2. Conducted. Oh, arranger? H.B. Barnum
  3. Blepp Splub - Why?
  4. I have it as an LP-to-cassette dub, so this will be a most welcome upgrade. One of the essential "organ records", imo.
  5. Marty Flax...life is funny. Flax was in the Buddy Rich band that did the PJ Big Swing Face album. Which I found in the cutout bins when I was 15 or so. I knew nothing so memorized everybody present on every record and just assumed that they were all "jazz stars" LOL. And when he died in 1972, Down Beat had an obit for him. I still remembered the name and assumed if he had a DB obit that he was still a "jazz star"! And now, here he is 50+ years after all that. I still remember these two blips, so he really IS a jazz star!!! Wiki don't lie: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marty_Flax
  6. Walker's solo career...first that I was aware of was his 70s run on Ode, which were professional but...not what I was looking for. And his co-leader dates with Joe Sample which were probably ok, but by then I would not have been paying a lot of attention. So what was the deal with this record and this label? And Mel Brown, the drummer, Seattle Mel Brown, not impulse! Mel Brown, never recorded a lot anyway, so this adds to the findings. Nifty!!! Horace Tapscott!!! https://www.discogs.com/master/626349-David-T-Walker-Going-Up
  7. Damn, David T. Walker...your hints threw me off, I thought he would have been a familiar name to you. But not like this!!! That's a total surprise for me because I'd known him since the 70s - but never like this. That's a sweet find indeed!
  8. Me neither but https://www.mccabephotos.com/about
  9. Who was that photographer and how much fussing over fingers was there? You might think none, and you might be right, but don't bet too much on it. Photo shoots can get incredibly granular.
  10. Conversely, if music is everything, then attitude is nothing. True/lasting genius/art/whatever contains both in meaningful measure. And ideally in more or less equal measure. Balance is a bitch, but there it is anyway.
  11. But Bill is a junkie. Interpretations are infinite, but facts is facts.
  12. If attitude is everything then music is nothing.
  13. Bill pawned somebody's alto? Bill is a junkie, right?
  14. Johnny Dick's Flight From Tonality - Keys Are For Cars
  15. Brian Eat - Escape From Sludge Mountain
  16. Nice. How did they come your way?
  17. Hart To Hart - Season 3. The double entendres are placed just right. The best one so far has been the Harts talking about looking forward to a menu of stuffed mushrooms and cracked crab.
