  1. A Dallas classic!!! Hope you spent the extra $$$ for the 45 RPM audiophile pressing, it brings out the hidden mediocrity in a way that the 33 1/3 kinda muddles up.
  2. Bettelee Spearbank - Songs About Me!!!
  3. Nope, not for me. Sylvia Syms is another one.
  4. Kent Bardahl - Plays Don Berlando!!!
  5. Awwww... Inflation!
  6. It reminds me of Albert's Mexican Village, a pioneering Kilgore, Tx Tex-Mex joint that had a similar block style building and a similarly oversized neon name sign. https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/black-and-white-photograph-featuring-two-women-standing-in-news-photo/528673682 It was at the end of a street that gradually deteriorated over time, and by, say, 1970, you would have seen the same car parked in front of it that you see in that photograph. Probably with the headlights off, though. The Albert's legacy lives, though. Their recipe for their "hot sauce" (which was not at all spicy but is just incredibly flavorful!!!) has long outlived the restaurant, survived the pandemic and subsequent inflation, and only slight corporate medication of it's recipie. A trivia note: Albert's did not serve their salsa with chips. The served it with saltines! I have never tried that and probably never will. But I guess their clientele liked well enough to keep the salsa alive into today!
  7. Yeah, Jamal was serious about his Muslim faith and stipulated that no alcohol was to be served in his club.
  8. Is the irony here intentional?
  9. Phil Woods did? I'm really confused, sorry.
  10. Preventative legislation is needed! Surely!
  11. Defensive, offensive, or both?
  12. Dinertia Monzelle - Go Tell It!!!
  13. Never knew about the Paris Time record! Expensive right now, but I'll keep my eyes open for some random popup to left field.
  14. Paris did an album for Time? Details please!
  15. That Philadelphia store from another thread had it for some stupid low price so I ordered it. Hope it gets filled! I like some Jackie Paris when the conditions are right. Bobby Scott was an interesting guy...
  16. Ok It reminds me of certain mid 20th century animated cartoons. Post-Gerald McBongBong.
  17. Hmmm...do you see anything etched along the outer édge of the disc? Mot a lot, just a little word or symbol or something. I should have used my magnifying glass before retiring it...
  18. Our TV PBP announcer called it a "book rule double" tonight instead of a ground rule double. When did that happen, or was he announcing the way the Rangers were playing?
  19. Fabilu Cartez - The Yellow-Shirted Pretty Girl
  20. So, Padres City Connect uni...DISTINCTIVE!!! I like them, but I was SO not ready for them!
  21. I'd like to "grown" how? How more distinctive? Tone? Phrasing? Not hearing much of that here? Me, I'm like, he's still Pepper-redux, even if "evolved" . But Post-Pepper, you got Cuber in one lane, Bluiett in another, and Cecil Payne still holding down that one. Plus Pat Patrick. They're all dead now. Do those lanes need filling? No? New lanes, maybe? Yes? So...the Pepper Placeholder chair, important for the business, sure. But for the music itself? I remain unconvinced. But certainly there are those who like it, and for them, there it is
  22. Acknowledged by Jerry himself.
