You're welcome! I hear it like that too + Carla Bley.

    Alex Paxton?

https://alexpaxtonmusic.com/ https://www.rayfieldallied.com/artists/alex-paxton Not bashful! Seems like he leads as a jazz trombonist but his output is composition. Perhaps more heard in "classical" circles? I hear, in part, the spirits of Carla Bley and Frank Zappa (minus the misanthropy). I'm initially excited. We'll see how long that lasts. But right now, yes.

    Alex Paxton?

A new name to me, but apparently getting a lot of composing commissions. I bought his new one, Delicious, the other day via Bandcamp, and it's gotten me to explore more and then buy more. Gotta say, the initial reactions are one of excitement, like genuinely 21st Century music (which is not to say it's ungrounded in any way). A LOT of stuff happening at once, but it all makes sense and holds together. No discussion on him here...anybody know of him?
  10. Does that song list match any record?
  11. First thing I did when I got this was to burn it into individual session. Not that much work, and the additional lucidity gained was really worth it.
  12. https://www.discogs.com/release/4076031-Ted-Heath-London-Stereo-Laboratory-Vol4-Big-Band I mean, oh hell no, but how does something as wrong as this happen??? And Bill Barron too!!!
  13. lo-fi recording, fine music
  14. I think that one listen is enough, but it's been one helluva fun listen, and an abundance of Wild Jimmy Spruill adds to that! Watts has that sound and speaks this language about as naturally as it has been spoken. It might be a relatively limited vocabulary, but that vocabulary can be used to speak a rich language, so there it is!
  15. Elner Shashoe - Marriage!!!
  16. Certainly must been elusive! Congrats!!!!
  17. Very nice ambient improv with some very loud silences.
  18. The whole team, minus the starters, is not meeting either expectations or potential. The bullpen is almost good, but Luke Jackson is the most predictable choker in the history of history. I'm in no way calling for Bochy to be replaced, but...wake up, fucker. Fires, asses, etc. Major league cricket starts in June. I'm ready.
