Vido Musso was a good player who played with, a.o., Goodman before Kenton. With Kenton, he got a LOT of profile. Certainly a fine player, but a "big dog" he was not, especially not considering who all the "big dogs" of that time were. Still, if you have a chance to get that 78, go for it. Ideally, you kennel should make a home for good dogs of all sizes.

It's the same changes, believe it or not. The change in the meter is what makes it weird, especially for the "how could I be such a fool" section". For that, the melody get tweaked to pull it deep into the vampchugging that's going on underneath. But the changes themselves...still the same.

I think if you include people who like him sometimes in some amount it goes up to a solid 6.5 - 7 range. The total dislike is actually more rare than the total embracing. it seems to me. Stronger in expression, perhaps, but still, less rare in frequency.
