  2. Who gets Bob Dorough's money?
  3. Not against any rules, nor do I think you might be incorrect. It just seems a little, uh..."forward", especially to a new member.
  4. My wife's the same way.
  5. I swear to god, John Simon has a bass clarinet playing a bari part on that Bonnie Herman rrecord. That record is a gem, a true gem. Bonnier Herman, ftw.
  6. Lots of people did, including many adults!
  7. Is Mr. Mills a friend of yours that you feel comfortable in ascribing motive without supporting evidence?
  8. Making' me wanna go out and buy a jukebox...
  9. Doris Day, otoh, takes a total POS song and, with the help of an unnamed arranger, hits it out of Ear Candy Park. But it still wasn't a hit.
  10. Doin' things that you don't understand.
  11. Patti Page almost gets it, but almost don't count. This shit ain't easy.
  12. The weather sucked, but we went out anyway, glad we did. Carlos Kalmar conducts Karen Gomyo violin Beethoven Coriolan Overture Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto Walton Symphony no. 1 Ms. Gomyo plays the original edition of the Tchaikovsky concerto, the one rejected by the original dedicatee as being too difficult, and perhaps, too vulgar. I'm not at all big on Tchaikovsky in general, and this piece was no exception, except when the violin was playing, and then, there was a riveting power unleashed that could not be resisted. A triumph of perfomance! Walton's Symphony was unfamiliar to me. That has now been identified as a gap of my own doing, and one that must be remedied with all due haste. What a fine piece of music! The weather still sucked after it was over, but we went home anyway. Glad we did.

  15. and yet, still, the present-day composer refuses to die.
  16. Not to go off on a tangent here, but as dicey as jazz seems to be in the marketplace, modern classical makes it look like Classic Rock in comparison.
  17. Just had a look at the "new" Live 365...they aren't on Roku anymore, and their web site promises all different kinds of classical music, "From Solo Piano all the way to Avant-Garde", but this is what they actually have. Pitiful! https://live365.com/listen?query=classical%20music The old Live365 was the greatest streaming experience I've ever had. Specialty stations out the ass, and I heard I don't know how much stuff that stopped me dead in my tracks, and with their interface that let you tell them to send you details about the track, including album it was from, geez, that's money spent all day long (usually figuratively, but a few time literally).
  18. To be honest, this is the first I've heard of his malapropisms. All I can tell you is that he was a damn good tight end. Past that, nothing.
  19. All the stuff I liked went away. Maybe it's come back, I should look.
  20. I AM Jason Witten.
