  1. It was indeed, thanks!
  2. It's the reverb, I tell you. This band should be in the Reverb Hall Of Fame! Waltz Woodpecker, WALTZ!
  3. And not berated!
  4. The Moody Blues are already in: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/read-moody-blues-thankful-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame-induction-speeches-628973/ I get that a lot of people dig Tull, but I don't get it. Don't try to explain, I've had more than enough time to get it if I was going to. But they've sold enough records AND they got that infamous "hard rock" Grammy, so they should be in. But I'll be damned if I care one way or another, seriously, I mean, rock is just as irrelevant to modern times as jazz. so it's all feel-good nostalgia when it gets down to the hall-of-fame/consumer level. Only, at least, Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has a building, something you can actually visit. Either way, this is a good read: https://www.loudersound.com/features/what-happened-the-night-jethro-tull-beat-metallica-to-a-grammy-award
  5. They've already been elected.
  6. Yeah, Roxy/Bowie, that's sorta how I felt about any connections there were. Is Roy Wood in this halloffame? There's another one.
  7. Dude, you know I love you, but that's a fucked up thing you did. If somebody is damaged, it's not even a little cool to think it's ok to go ahead and get in there because you know, she's already nutz, maybe this will be fun with the crazy hot chick. That is not cool. That just makes you another asshole for her to justify her own craziness with. People do break, ya' know, and vvery seldom is it jsut one thing that happens jsut one time. Usually it's cumulative, and now you are part of that. To paraphrase the GPS, recalculate, bro, recalculate. You know I love you, but c'mon man, be better than THAT. Or not, your life. wow, totally different experience than mine. the few people I knew who were into those others were NOT into Roxy, not even a little. They didn't dig Bryan Ferry, and that was where the discussion started and ended. Regional differences, no doubt.
  8. Roxy "prog rock"? Hmmmm....not sure about that? Yes, Crimson, Gentle Giant, all that (Tull, too, I guess, although I've always found them to be a dreadful waste of time far more often than not). Roxy to me was more of the "glam" scene, although a lot more "ironic". There was a lot of UK stuff going on that didn't really translate to the US charts at the time. Like, the only US "Hit" they had for a looooong time was "Love Is The Drug", and that's certainly not prog. And Ferry's whole "suave" persona... Here they are live. Those chords certainly don't sound like Yes in the least. More like a fey Pete Townsend! Anyway, I really like how Eno evolved from a potential lost wanker to a serious artist with a real skill set. Is HE in the hall yet? And please note - it IS a real hall, with a building and shit.
  9. TOTALLY!!!!
  10. Those are the two w/Eno. It all sounds so normal today. I mean, it all kinda sounds like bullshit now, not really bullshit, but like people who think Fletcher Henderson sounds corny because they have no perspective and think the nothing meaningful happened before what they know. Well, hey, good luck with that, because everything old was new at one time (except shit that never was anything to begin with). And I really don't get the indifference towards The Zombies, maybe it's a kid thing. But in the day, they didn't sound like anything else on the Top 40, and even today, if you can find an oldies station that doesn't begin with Elton John, they STILL don't sound like anything else. This used to be a singles music, ok, and three iconic singles that don't need ANY musical justification, that's enough for me. And I do think they've been influential, although hell, don't ask me about that, I don't listen to too much of anything like that today. The last thing I recall thinking as oh, Zombies influence was "Walking On the Sun", which all the years I played in pukeass cover bands was NOT ONCE added to anybody's rep, I mean how lame is that? If I could dance, I would dance to this. But hey - you hear a song and KNOW who the influence was rather than having to be told by some psedo-hipster "historian", I think you earn dsome cred and the props that go with it.
  11. My secret, such as it is (and such as it works) is to laugh at everybody and everything, self included. Which is not o say there's no room for anger and hurt, there's always is. But the laugh trumps 'em all. It is, as somebody said, an instant vacation. So think about all the vacation time you have at your disposal every waking moment, and then carpe diem!
  12. Wow, I jsut woke up and already I feel older. And happier! Thank you all!
  13. Roxy Muisc is ok by me.
  14. Actually, I like The Hollyridge Strings. Seriously. It's the reverb.
  15. Still no Hank Mobley?
  16. I'd be inclined to think that somewhat weaselish. Thank god for wives.

  18. Now on youTube! I love how this guy just gives it up and just does that thing with no apparent ambiguity. Ronnie Cuber, y'all! And jesus do I love watching Lionel Hampton, as much as I do listening to him.
  19. We have the same thing in rural East Texas. They go through a phase where it's kinda cool/rustic, but then it just gets sad, and finally, pathetic. But you miss them when they're gone, not emotionally, but visually. And nothing that replaces them is as cool. Never.
  20. Indeed there is, but...just sayin'... "su vida es en este nube, aqui es la realidad" "your life is in that cloud, here is the reality" HA! I proudly own this record, but to think that I could ever own this music..if it was ownable, it wouldn't have made it this far!
