is the blue label 'trident' logo lp, you know, the one w/ the diff cover, and it says 'remixed for stereo...etc'............. well i was lookin at one today, it is vangelder stamped and stuff....is this really so, did rvg electronically rechannel it for stereo and do the new cuts of it and stuff, or is this true stereo, or, wel i have the VDJ cd issue which is pretty amazing, but i need to know abt this issue, thanks

have you guys seen the lp "notes" sheet that comes w/ the lp? it is a comic book, drawn by Wayne Shorter age 15-16,.....1949. i guess the lp theme is in relation to this------what i was thinking that it obviously shows a great sence of artistic talent to do this, even though he later put that talent into being a great tenor saxophone player, you could tell the kid had it!!!!! u know what im sayin. also very unusual to say, it says on the lp that it was mastered from the digital Sony 1630 tape, AS IF THEYRE BRAGGING, LOL. well it doesnt actually say if it was digitally recorded but it does say it was digitally mixed . .................i also dont think this is the right Columbia sleeve for this Columbia album LOL =---------- wait also it says also avail on CR02 cassette................doenst mention CD..... ......could it be this album was NOT released on cd by columbia? did they do that a lot w/ jazz titles then, not make it avail on every format?

or coronet?!? as in this one... http://www.quicksales.com.au/buy/auction.aspx?itemid=11836224 but the one i saw today in person was on Columbia, for -sure-. thats weird, coronet licenced columbia stuff? --------- well how is this lp. i passed on it casue it was too much i felt, but it would of been a good addition to my brubeck collection in addition to my ballet music collection. im kind of sad i passed. but how is it. its composed for two pianos. then one song is brubeck trio + carmen mccrae. but how is the two piano stuff. is it jazzy, or classical, or how is it. ive never seen the lp before today, id like to come across a cheaper copy in the future. any info appricated, thankx!

hey jlhoots: do you have first pressing monos of all four of babyface willettes blue note albums (2sideman/2leader)? didnt think so- moving on, i know jlhoots just makin fun of me for diggin on asia. dont get me wrong i dont like every note theve ever done. i can say that. but let me break it all down for you: steve howe is -killin'- at these recent shows- dude he had more energy during the 2009 asia show i saw, than ive **EVER** seen him w/ yes, he was jumpin' n stuff, just in like the 70s. let me just tell you: i am your friend chewy and my love for asia is not charlie sheenesque, its more like: dude after yes broke up where do you go? it was steve howes big solo project, not to mention a crack band w/ him. sucks he left before the 3rd album. would of really benifited, although i can still listen to it. ok ok, lets play a game:...........for one of cheyws babyface lps.........who is the guitarist who replaced steve howe in asia? oh i also wanna say i think you guys would like em better if the orginal cds sounded better, i admit they are as great as they could be. never heard a decent cd issue, old or new. the limitations on vinyl also really hurt it when you listen to the lp, however i am interested in how the sealed alpha i got sound (they made lps a little better by then in 82, sometimes...) better than the late 70s, no? here, here is the answer http://www.guitars101.com/forums/f145/asia-1982-05-02-palladium-new-york-ny-102750.html check out how it was in person, then tell me you dont dig asia, the show was intense, and for me, the focal point of the band

what about something like a liberty issue of art blakey- jazz corner of the world vols 1 & 2. even tho the covers have a slot for the mono catelogue #, were these ever released by liberty? the edition i have is blue label 70s, stereo. but the cover still depicts both nos.

yyyeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!! its totally vangelder stamped though, and good qual vinyl. is there any chance these issues used the same vinyl that was already printed, with new labels. cause SOME of this liberty vinyl is really quality. the delightfulee i have is incredible

there was a great amt of record company involvement in the beginning, so the commerciality side of it was obviously there. trevor rabin, roy wood, and rick wakeman were all considered for the band at early stages. the partnership of wetton-downes though is the foundation for the project. check out the pre asia wetton-downes demos to understand what they were doing at this time. i know they could of gone more prog, but dude it was 1982, and most of the bands they all were in were broken up. the songs were of the time, and if youre gonna be listening to pop music, why not have it be done by absolute masters. thats why asia are so great, despite more pop oriented material. you still have the "sound". eg. take steve howe for instance, when hes ripping the wah wah pedal on sole survivor, it was taking me all the way back to the days of Tommorrow (steves legendary psych band in case you didnt know)-- he never wah wah'd out in all the years in yes! ---& secondly i have to give asia a TON of credit on the success of their orig. lineup reunion. its into its FIFTH year already, incl. 2 albums of new material. in 06 i was very pleased when this came to be but i NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER saw it lasting 5 years w. 2 new albums. i give them a TON of credit

lolz, this Driggs guy sounds hes a Columbia rebel, i like it! He should of put the fake alternate take on the net then given John Hammond the credit. so you actually seperated the left and ride side of the groove on a 78 rpm and combined different 78 groove-sides, and put them together for the master? a 78's not stereo, so you mean the two sides of the groove together make the mono, but you just have 1/2 the information missing when you hear one side of the groove?

so i just got a sealed 70s edition art blakey at the jazz corner of the world vol 1 and i was thinking, why certain titles were never reissued, like take peckin' time for example- great session, no liberty, or even regular blue note ny usa 60s issue, correct?
