  1. i passsed on this 5 dlr home cookin i dont jnow why-- ive passed on others thru the years-- since i have notjing else to live for anymore i am passing on nothing- i bought a natural soul this weekend for 25 dollars
  2. i know there right but i dont want to believe it! ugh- ill find finds i know it. i got a sweet natural soul for 25 bucks last weekend. ive seen Bns in the 3 and 5 dollar bins before (that i passed on)...why i dont jknw...
  3. Brownie, you KNEWHank--- its okay if you settle for the King Pressings..........
  4. wai wait is the BLUE NOTE insignia on it at all w/o the track list or is truly just PLAIN WHITE? odd.... ok so prayer meetin comes about 20 or so records in the catalogue after Natural soul. what does this tell us? eg. did BN press runs for a while into the releasing of others, or eg. BN printed a while lot of different records all at once, etc
  5. dont get me wrong i prefer nice, my no room in stone cold mint and my reach out is also nice
  6. ok ok i guarnteee you not ever one of hanks 50s lps exist in a decent status. eg. a few mos. ago some dude was posting a dozen really rare sun ra saturn titles, at only 45 bucks buy it now, cause they were in beyond fucked up condition. i, being chewy, need to set my slights lower. i need someone to list a less than perfect, or much less, copy--- i need to wait for something of that sort, or ideally find as many locally as i can, which as you know is hard when you life in only one place
  7. have to add: this shows u BN made mistakes, pre-BOOBY! lol
  8. ok u guys, remember that one time i did i thread on how i had a jimmy lp w/ a DOUBLE LABEL suck on? well i am not joking around, my NATURAL SOUL i just got, has another label betheath, the 1st one is stuck on tight, its not loose like on the former lp... but it clearly is another label. i see RED TOP, i also see the name of STANLEY turrentine.....i also, lastly, see clearly thru the label when held to light, the word PRAYER..... now you guys said before it might not be unheard of to have a double label by mistake, but what the hell is going on here. it is an original press RVG 'ear' now prayer meetin isnt near Natural soul in the catlog i didnt think....what is going on!??!?!?!?
  9. by the way, saw this lp from the late 70s i think-- Helen Merrill is HOT
  10. ok, so WHENS THE MARKET GOING TO DROP OUT. these 1000K + prices are not going to last forever someday all these old collectors will be dead, and no one is going to buy them for 1000. there will be a shift in prices im sure of it at some point. in the 70s and 80s, i bet you a copy of HANK wasnt 3000.
  11. 1st off brownie ive never seeen that jazzcollector site before: ill be checkin that one out today, thanks 2ndly- ill have to respectfully disagree about the kings. sure, the kings will tide be over till i score the orginals. but i want the original product, i dont care what condition. one day maybe ill find a copy of HANK in the 5 dollar bin cause its scratched beyond all means. this is how i found a copy of a few records on MODE that book real high, but they were beat to hell, so cheap. not every copy of HANK is in pristine condition i bet: what i need to do i think, is track on ebay one that is not collectors quality. i was just bidding on a peckin time, it sold for 255. my high bid was 50. there was like 10 hrs left and no one bid on it. it closed for 255. the other day on ebay i bid on a while label this was jethro tull promo and it sold for 7.99. so deals sometime can be had on ebay. so far i have an original No Room (mint, my 1st jazz record ever), Reach Out!, then a 70s repress of Hi Voltage w/ the vangelder stampers that sounds like the 1st run im SURE!
  12. since deciding that i now must buy all the 1st pressings, i am telling you, ive hit a few roadblocks. some of these, are just insanely expensive. are these some of the most expensive jazz lps of all time? and why are they still SO MUCH? i want to replace as many mcmaster cds as i can w/ original vangelders, however i settled, until i find the orig., a 70s hi voltage that still uses the vangelder stamper- sounds amazing
  13. yes very interesting
  14. yea Jsngry-- this is like totally pre-LIVE BULLET! lol!
  15. has anyone ever seen a period BN piece like this IN THE BAG-- its not cellophane at all, but a thinly placed bag, not like the bulkier looser ones of other labels ive seen....is this how all period BN's came? mine i just got is an original VanGelder "ear" (stereo)- the vinyls not in the same shape as the cover, but will be more than ok, and in fact will probably sound fantastic-- now wheres that cd to throw out?
  16. hey u guys, so these books are comps of billboard stuff? hmm thats handy but if im gonna go thru all the trouble why not peruse thru the actual billboards, as i guess we can now do online....still cant blieve u can search the pdf file, thats amazing....
