i think im starting to understand here- so you were freelance, so kind of like a 'private contractor' for columbia- because you could offer them goods or services they couldn't find elsewhere as good, and you were freelance as to work for many orginizations, and not go steady with Columbia so intead of leaving the producers credit blank on the lps, john hammond, columbia big shot, wanted to slab his name on the jacket cause hell get $$. Did this piss you off to hell, or were you not fazed by it cause people are horrible, and theres no way thats ever gonna change, so why get mad? -

i dont know what you guys are hyping over about his trumpet playing- Stuey is known in wcj circles for his brillant Value Trombone playing. he essentially brought the instrument to west coast jazz. ps- what do you mean richard bock produced dates with elmo hope-- is there an original Pacific jazz issue i need to be looking for?

well chuck nessa today at dinner we went to five dollar happy hour pizzas, and i was all 'how much extra 2 add feta" and she was all: two dollars- and i was all: how much do u get, a lot? and she said honestly, no- not really that much. well i wanted feta cheese, and a shitton of it, on top of my sausage and mushroom thin crust fancy reastaurant style happy hour pizza. should of just plunked down 12 extra dollars and been all: fine gimme a pizza with six side orders of feta, biatch! or should i have done what i really did, and just fanasized about the feta when i put parmasean on it instead. -

clifford thornton: i dont want to speak for chris albertson, but i dont think he cares about apprasials and insurance value. this stuff is part of his life and it not about how much a letter would go for on ebay. -

does EMI now own/ have access to the Lion/Wolff non-tape related blue note archives--- eg. print material, sales figures, et al? or is this material long since vanished from the archives? for i was just listeining to the al lion thank you speech (thank you for it again btw), he gives his sincere thanks to Ike Quebec for all his help and guidence.... ....can you guys expand upon what we know about Ike Quebecs role in blue note as A&R head? was it ikes job to expose al to musics that he should be hip to? or was al hip anyway on his own? who can expand this post and tell us about ike quebecs role later, Duke Pearson took over this role. What is known about him and his role in the company.
