I AM COMPELETLY BESIDE MYSELF, I CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO BELIEVE WHAT I AM READING. I HEARD ABOUT IT 3 MIN. AGO ON YAHOO MUSIC NEWS. I AM ABSOUTELY SICK. I SPENT 2 YEARS PERFECTING THIS MANS KEYBOARD PARTS IN A PROFESSIONAL PINK FLOYD TRIBUTE BAND AND HAD A GREAT TIME RE-CREATING THE MUSIC THIS MAN BROUGHT TO US. -
THE NEW CHRISTY MINTRELS ARE MUSIC GENESIUSES--- did u guys ever see them in concert?

that is crazy u saw dylan like way way that far back in the day! i respect the fact that u guys can be so flippant about it, cause compared to seeing Big John Patton that same year, i see how bobby suddenly seems a little less exciting, lol

**GEORGE DUKE**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! okokokokokokokok this is what happened: 2day at lunch i was reading the "to do" column in the paper and it was all TONIGHT- George Duke and i was all: WTF?!? i had **NO** idea george duke was comming, but really i wasnt even planning on going cause i was just going to get home after work, call my family, call it a nite, etc.....but anyways i get some dinner after work w/ my buddy from work, and the bus is all fucked up, it was rerouted for no apparent reason and TWO of the times, the bus didnt show....so i was all fuck it, and called home on his cell real quick then we went took a long walk to McCaw Hall where the show was-- got there in time for the last 10 or so min. of george dukes set. But hell, it was the funkiest 10 min. i had all week, so im not complaining. i am very very touchy about rent-outs of that theater, beacuse essentially its the ballet's theatre, and very few musical recording artists have the right to stand on the same stage, but george duke is definetly an exception. anyways so after the show (there was some more mordern rNb guy closing the show) we were walkin outside and i walk past the lobby and there he is, posing for a photo-op by some big cardboard cutout logo thing for the event....so i went back in and i told him how "ive been listening to him since the World-Pacific days!" and he was all: you dont look that old....and i was all: no, but im from so cal so im all about the west coast jazz! lol it was SOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome!!! i met GEORGE DUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mike weil is absoutely right- and listening to it right now- i can tell you w/ certaininty now that this could be the most relevant item in the whole crown catalogue when it comes to modern wcj. the gerry mulligan songs are definetly not the originals. even though they list him as "jerry" on the cover. confirmation of course is not the orig but its soooooooooooo good. I CHALLENGE ANY OF YOU FOR SOLID INFO! no more "Crown is so mysterious" as an excuse. this is like solid, solid west coast jazz. Everyone always used to laugh at me too when i talked about how there is solid west coast jazz in all this early 1960s underground porn i found- well the same applies here: THIS IS SOILD TOP NOTCH WEST COAST JAZZ, ON PAGE WITH ANY OF YOUR FAVOURITE WCJ LPS! wasnt one of you guys on the board of the Jazz West Coast instute for West Coast Jazz in LA?

"MODERN JAZZ GREATS": THE CONTINENTAL JAZZ OCTETTE this is **NOT** a crown comp. but a band which plays "recreations" of your favorite jazz hits: those are-- symph sid/soft shoe/freeway/confirmation/po-po (shorty rogers) the funky shepards (bud shank)/robbins nest/stuffy/ornothology I WANT TO KNOW ALL YOU HAVE EVER HEARD OR ENCOUNTERED ABOUT THIS LP IN PARTICULAR: DOES **ANYONE** HAVE ANY PERSONEL INFO FOR THIS ITEM, I DO NOT BELIEVE ITS REHASHED MODERN OR RPM MATERIAL BUT SOME KIND OF WEST COAST JAZZ RELEATED LINEUP FOR CROWN, NOT TO DISSIMILAR FROM THE INFAMOUS "JAZZ MASQURADE/SUPRISE" SERIES-- BUT EVEN THOSE LISTED SOME "SUSPECTED" PERSONEL......

SOUL STREAM: ive read up on that large bio on the bjp myspace about his "underground" period, but since you are such an expert in all this bjp, can you please give us some other info we need to know about that. So he really taught music to kids, but didnt like that job? he also arranged for the jackson five. what else was he up to? lets talk about bjp!
