  13. master higgins w/ shirely = b3 jazz perfection, not to mentioned george coleman/ that aside it was disappointing--- all these years ive been waiting to hear this album, because the discog. states: Shirley Scott (org, mellotron). I thought shirley was gonna get all tron'ed out on this and master higgins would be swingin n gruntin when shirley went into to space, but in reality she just uses it for light textures very sparcly
  14. how did u track down/ did u do what i did and call him up like i did w/ lou?
  15. its kinda hard 2 believe its the 1st bn lp w/ strings but thats what it says in the notes?!?

  18. who can share w/ me about how instruments are arranged in a symphony. why are the basses always on one side. wouldnt it be better to have the basses spread out so there is bass everywhere? why are certain instruments always next to other instruments? like bassoons are always next to some other instrument i cant remember. who knows about the history of classical orch. setups have any composers expieremented with varrying/altering the trad. setups over the years, if so- which composers, etc....
  19. by the way, was talking to my grandpa about my thory, how even if its a stereo lp once it gets inside yr head its folded down to mono, he said its just the opposite- the brain does processes the seperate sounds seperately, and the way human hearing works it gives you a sence of direction, and then he had to hang up but hell call me back and tell me more later
  20. lol yes humans have two ears, but isnt the sound FOLDED DOWN TO MONO by the *BRAIN*??????
  21. the three suns are fantastic too
  22. why do people consider amhet a scumbag? i know nothing of the history of atlantic records, but everyone always seems to speak so highly of him-- what was their part of the music industry really like? well ill be good god damned if that wasn't six million miles from what i would have thunk... ....what he was railin' hippo and trying to plank marcia ball?!?! so these guys still liked to party, even into the 1970s?? fill me in a little hear if you could be so kind, because i dont understand! lol
  23. wait i thought barney wilen was that mobley disciple who played w/ miles davis- u mean he made a DOPED OUT PSYCH JAZZ LP!!!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!? oh hell yeah! in the 70s did he make just this one, or 14 of em
  24. Jazz is not music meant for stereo. this is what i am proposing. Mono is like a real recording. Mono is music as it was meant to be reproduced and heard. Stereo is more gimick-ey// meant for stuff like the strawberry alarm clock and Esquivel. by the way i absouetly adore Esquivel. i dont think u guys have mentioned him here much. have you guys any expierence w/ his music. do you organissmo guys have any repect for esquivel, is i guess what i wanna know. but anyways jazz sounds better in mono, always have, always will. I like hearing MUSIC. not separeted bullshit. In the 50s and 60s, the social seperation of black people in america took signifcant steps to become less and less. In Jazz, significant steps were taken which added INCREASED SEPERATION to jazz sounds comming out of the lp what if RVG stuck to mono beacuse Al Lion wanted him to-- what do u think that would of been like
