  1. yes pete banks is one of the most underrated guitarists in rock/ he has always been screwed over and never broke through to major major success, but he is a legend:::: be sure to get the 1st record by his solo band FLASH also be sure to get TWO SIDES OF PETER BANKS- which also THREE guitarsists on it: pete+ steve hackett +jan akkerman, rhythm sect. is john wetton and phil collins//this lp is the closest thing you can get to like a yes+genesis hybrid...search for it!
  2. 1949 roy porter date, heard eric dolphys also on that-- can you guys who know please share more info about his 40-60s recordings? i have the gw mosaic of course but i was unaware for the 2 song dupree date but what else is there? any more stuff on pacific jazz for example? any recording with dex? where can i get the roy porter date too, any current issues of that? i havent seen H.C in a few months but he is still playing and playing great!

  5. I dont know if you guys know this but earlier this summer Steve Howe did a small UK tour with his new Steve Howe B3 trio- among the songs are two covers from the Verve jazz lp BLUE BASH, the title track, and "kenny's sound"....

  7. basically my plan as of now, my usual sneaking in methods of getting backstage, this tour is way too important to rely on sheer luck....basically as of now my plan is just to have like 500 dollars cash in my wallet at each show, and the 1st person i see with a guest laminate ill just be all: "ill give u 200 big ones for it"

Evvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveryyyyyyyyy year, chewy says to himself: WHen will living legend little stevie wonder do a godamn TOUR and not just make special appearacnce at the grammys and shit: well that time has COME-- and certainly announced at the last min for the gen public: the dates are all at the end of THIS MONTH!! im sure tickets will sell out instantly for all shows: the venues are small outdoor venues tickets are 63 bucks gen adm for the seattle show-- so i HAVE to go to this, right? is this like a must see show. ive been scrimpin and saving all summer i havent been to many concerts but i think i cant scrimp on this one. lets talk about the stevie tour here!

  13. im playing my New time shuffle lp right now which is mint and really doesn't need upgrading: also have the "2fer" with the other part of the session...... .....but those other tracks....the last 7 or so....a lot of em are mancini tunes.... do i need to buy Blues for Del cd conn. reissue just for these tracks? are they all ballads? are any funky? swing? what are these tracks like? these sessions are by far my favorite turrentine sessions so i think id like em no matter what, but i would like to ask you guys about them.

  23. i recall reading a website with detailed info on other sessions sun recorded w/ dan and dale but i cant recall or find the link anymore-- but i belive there was some other session work done w/ sun and/or other members of the arkestra---- well i found this Dan and Dale lp on DIMPLOMAT called Moonlight Memories, and theres a lot of organ on it, and i was wondering if maybe it's sun ra.....can anyone help me out with this one?
