UK editions of Prestige/New Jazz LP's
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez replied to Peter A's topic in The Vinyl Frontier
was there a particular reason for the different covers on the uk editions? were the covers done by the brits themselves? did prestige just sell them the rights to the music and thats it, or something? or is there a specific reason, like with the genesis album Three Sides Live, in the USA it was 3 sides live + 1 studio side, but in the UK they already released the studio side as an EP so they had an extra 4th side that had a live version of 'one for the vine' on it..... -

....$20 big ones, Limelight LP? blakey band w/ keith Jarrett (!??!?!) and mangeoine, before he decended into the oblivion of white powdered nose candy. main reason i want to get is cause apparentlyt it was recorded LIVE AT THE LIGHTHOUSE. any opinions will be considered seriesouly by chewy also whats up w/ limelight in general? how could they afford such groovy packagaing. were they known as having good packagaing or is that just chewys opinion? what is the complete label output. who owned it? is it associated w/ a larger label like cbs?
-
oh yes, senor ramierez at fresh sound told me he just remastered it, just for u- and the first 500 pressings include some Johnson & Johnson's baby powder so you can powder your bottom and have a nice fresh feeling so you are nice and breezy for the west coast jazz
-
awesome-you know what would be the best, if he did one last tour and they got they got the jbs back together they should give a funky concert w/ james browns casket in the center, and have a little speaker in the casket w/ jbs vocal track. i would pay a million dollars to see that concert
