If Coleman Hawkins' 1939 version of 'Body and Soul' isn't perfect, it's just so close to it that it doesn't matter. My opinion of course but after listening for 50 years, I'm entitled to having a few of them.

Just one of those days to get groovin...

I listened to this, twice a year, for many years. I still have the CD. It is the first and only disc I have thrown across a room. It made me angry. I'm not a musician so I can't/won't comment on the musicianship. I guess it's just me but I find it to be completely devoid of emotion. Maybe that was the point of it? I tried and really wanted to like it but I just find it irritating. For me, Holman and Russo charts all day long. This? Not so much.

Well, it's the last two weeks of June... has anyone started getting their sets yet?

One of my favs and not on anyone's list... Generally different than any other Don Ellis album... and a simply great cover, to boot!

I'll bet this one is on time. They've been trying for years to release this set.

I have all four of the Mosaic blues boxes. In fact, I was listening to the T-Bone Walker set yesterday. Great stuff!
