  2. For those who are keeping score, received mine today with the serial number 4415. Better get it before it goes out of print.
  3. Wow, they did sell out fast, bought mine with the serial number 2745, does that mean they sold 2000 boxsets in 5 or 6 days
  4. The Condon set is now sold out, got lucky to get the few last ones.
  5. Saw Roy Hargrove wednesday night, great set , beatiful solos, very tight band , they played straight jazz. The night after, saw Chris Potter., once again he blew us away with his blowing prowess, great groovy band behind him. The guitarist Adam Rodgers took some mighty nasty licks.
  6. Yes they are on DIW on a Japanese importation. With the subtitle Live from Soundscape series I have not listened to them since awhile, but i remember enjoying them. http://www.geocities.com/cherry_tapes/intmonk.htm
  7. Try the stuff with the Lanois arrangement, Wrecking Ball, Red dirt girl and Stumble into grace the last one is worth it just for the beautiful picture of hers on the cover. If you want something more twangy, litlle less Enoesque try the albums she did with Warner such as Elite Hotel, if you can get your hands on the Anthology
  8. May i suggest Piazzolla forever and New York Tango with Bireli Lagrene on guitar.
  9. The knock about these sets is there is a lot of stuff that we do have somewhere else, however all together this is quite a great series of great pieces.
  10. Pretty sure that the guy watching the porno was expecting something more along a nymphomaniac nurse passing by to see there were any hot men who needed to have their temperatures checked.
  11. Just bought one along the Gillespie and Eldridge set with some selects. Will wait til the end of the year to get the Ellington and Berry set.
  12. My budget is basically buying until repo man starts showing up at my door.
  13. Gonna see Oregon tonight, looking for seing Ralph Towner and co. Tomorrow night will be one of the most interesting french singers of the last 15 years in Thomas Fersen. Finally saturday, gonna see Sparklehorse. Yeah, life is great.
  14. Car wheels and Gravel road is among my desert island picks, by the way what happens on the desert island when your batteries are out. Just bought the Deluxe edition with a live CD as a complement, once i have listened to it, i'll give you some info if it's worth the extra buck.
  15. I prefer the Hodges because some of the tunes on the Wilson are a little cheesy although it is still good cheese. I think in terms of avaibility, you gotta go for the Wilson, he may be out of print before the Hodges. My Hodges was number 4552 out of 7500 and the Wilson 3450 out of 5000.
  16. I do think that the NHL should stop trying developping new markets and start stenghtening their old ones.
  17. A spouse, a wife ? I've heard of those what are they like exactly ?
  18. Was listening his latest offering " da questa parte del mare". Beatiful mature music with plenty of familiar musicians to name a few Bill Frisell, Greg Cohen with many EGEA veterans such as Gabriele Mirabassi, Enzo Pietrapaoli and Luciano Biondini. Kind of music you listene late in the evening with a glass of red wine in your hand. Any love for Testa
  19. Thanks guys, i'll be out to rob some gas station and in no time i'll be buying their stuff.
  20. Aaaaargh, they don't seem to deliver in North America. Tried to register and the only countries mentionned were european.
  21. Was putting too much info i guess, finally found them , thanks.
  22. There ain't any right now, but thanks for the link.
  23. Saw an interesting review about this boxset in the french magazine Jazzman; Svensk jazzhistoria vol. 10, 1965-69. Anybody knows where the heck i could find this baby, and tell me how much it would set me back. My swedish ain't too good, so if you know a seller that either speaks english or french, it would help me a bit. The links given by Caprice records are leading me nowhere.
  24. How about those Bengals.
  25. Yeah they have a way of making theur products glamorous, a little bit like Mosaic does with jazz nusic, most of the movies done are generally important and grounbreaking stuff. But overall don't you think overall that they are overpriced for what they really offer. Any comments ?
