  1. My name is Van Basten and i'm an Helen Merrill addict and i don't intend to stop being one.
  2. Saw Bengals-Chargers, reminded me of the classic Dolphins-Chargers game in the 80s. Great come back by SD. Think about it you have more than 500 yards on offense and manage a way of losing the game.
  3. Bobby Knight John Thompson Coach K
  4. Saw him in Montreal during the jazz fest, sound was awful plus they were some subs at the last minute, Friedman and Payton weren't there. He was decent especially in the second part. But it was ordinary it was probably the weakest show i attended during the whole festival. He looked old and although he seemed to be in good spirits the body was not what it used to be.

  10. Published: Monday, October 09, 2006 Jazz drummer Bernie Primeau died of cancer Monday at St. Luc Hospital, the day before he was to be honoured at the launch of his 11th album this evening at the Salles du Gesù. He was 67. Primeau began his professional musical career in 1956 doing drum rolls at the Rodeo, a Montreal strip club. Practising daily, he went on to become one of the city’s best known musicians. For years, he played in a trio with pianist Oliver Jones and bassist Charlie Biddle. Bernard Joseph Roland Primeau was born Jan. 5, 1939, in Montreal. He took lessons from Guy Nadon then studied percussion at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal. Primeau played with show bands in Montreal clubs, then went to Bermuda and California to improve his English skills. In 1984, he founded the Montreal Jazz Sextet. He hired some of the best young talent around – musicians like Rémi Bolduc, Yannick Rieu and Norman Guilbeault – and took them on the road, a local version of Art Blakey and his Jazz Messengers. Primeau received last year’s Oscar Peterson Prize for his contributions to Canadian jazz. Funeral arrangements have not been finalized.

  12. Most of his CDs are great i would recommend Chine and Chamber music. His work with Bruno Chevillon is awesome. He is one of those guys that i blindly buy everything i see of him when i visit a used CD store
  13. Kenny G G Gordon Liddy G Love
  14. I love that set by Lacy, must say that i like about everything from him. But you have to admit that Lacy is not everybody's liking. As far as his wife is concerned, small doses are recommended.
  15. Too bad that they don't come near my home. I saw the Italian Instabile Orchestra once live at the Montreal jazz fest. And i gotta say it's once of the greatest gig i ever saw in my life. I have to say it was problably the greatest musical evening of my life since earlier the same evening i saw the debut of the Dave Holland Big Band. A mythical night i tell you.

  17. Ever heard of that gutar player, neither did i. Found that CD on the label Leo at the CD used storefor 10 $. Only reason i bought was because there was among the sidemen one of favourite trumpet player. Did not regret my buy one bit. If you like guitar recording session in the ECM style you should like it,just the title track is worth the album. And of course Stanko shows once again his stuff bringing his personal texture to the trio. The trio is completed by the drummer Billy Hart who is also in fine form while still giving plenty of place for the soloing O'Leary.

  19. Sepp Blatter is the same idiot who thought that female players should wear skirts. So who gives a flying fart about what he thinks. That guy is an embarassment. As far as the Shootout, i think they are a necessary evil. If you want a final result the day the final is being played, i don' think you have any other choice. I've seen some games where they could have save people's time by going straight to the Shootout. The best example was probably the final for the 1994 World Cup in the US. If it wasn't for the shootout i think we would not have a winner yet.

  22. I gotta say i always had a fundness for covers, the further they are from the originals the more i usually enjoy them. One of my favourites is the Peter Sellers version of She loves you. Anyway i found a cd compilation made by the wife of Thierry Ardisson, a very popular tv host in France, where they have put together some weird versions. Here's a track listing Track Listing: 1. I Can't Get No (Satisfaction) Jose Feliciano Version cross Bossa nova cross Stax 2. There Must Be An Angel Fantastic Plastic Machine 3. Sex Bomb Das Palast Orchester A cheesy cabaret of the last Tom Jones hit 4. The Girl From Ipanema The Boogie Macs 5. Proud Mary Prozak For Lovers The slowest version of that song ever !!! 6. Light My Fire Shirley Bassey And 12Tree 7. She's A Lady Patricia Barber 8. Shaft Malik John Shaft meets Rai music 9. Staying Alive Eldissa A bossa nova version of the disco hit 10. Let's Spend The Night Together Charo & The Salsoul Orchestra 11. Beat Goes On The All Seing I 12. Highway To Hell Be My Guest Soul jazz version of the song 13. Walk on by The Mavi’s 14. 24. It's music like Morricone does some of it's music, remember the intro sequence in Once upon a time in the West, with the bad guys waiting in the train station, the fly the screeching sound except it's not for a movie score. It's easier to categorize by what it is not than what it is. I'd go with symphonical street music. I have a compilation of him made in England that puts the LPs Moondog and Moondog II, gotta say it's great stuff. http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/...FMoondog+II.htm
