  1. I'd rather watch that than the awful ad with MC Hammer and Ed Mcmahon, isn't the Super Bowl supposed to offer great ads.
  2. Regarding sports movies a lot are comedies and too often kid movies so for the sake of a of it, reality will go down the window. What do you feel are the movies with the most realistic depiction of sport scenes. Felt that Any given sunday was rather good in that department.
  3. Well, the answer that comes to mind is that wrestling is already acting, while boxing isn't. Good point, i guess boxing is pretty hard to recreate, but still at least in the Wrestler people took the time to create a make believe environment and scenarios that looked like the stuff we see in Rasslin shows. They seem to have done their research and homework properly. In most boxing movies, it seems people in charge of staging fights are too poor to get HBO or even ESPN so they could know how a fight is supposed to look or at least know basic things about the sport. Nobody told Clint Eastwood you can't win a fight by cheapshotting an opponent already on the floor, nor do women or men for that matter knock out opponents in one punch at the start of the fight. If you're not able to reproduce the speed and technicalities of a real fight, try to go around it instead of having those lame reproductions Nate never saw Fat City so i can't really comment whether the boxing scenes were credible or not. By the way, when you look at sports movies is it only boxing do they have problem creating something that looks like the real thing, it seems other sports are usually done better ?
  4. 5th set was a letdown after 4 brilliant sets, don't think that his serve was that much the reason of Federer losing, even when those stats were at their worst he was able to get by it did not help though It basically came down that when important points were coming up, Nadal upped his game while Roger didn't. Also the 5th set, he just looked flat in his all around game Nadal truly deserves to be called the numero uno
  5. the hendrix of the kora Don't know about him being the Hendrix of the kora, but just bought the album it is quite good, a nice balance of groove, ryhthm and great melodies , maybe purists will think of him as a watered down version of the "real stuff" but it is still enjoyable fare that people who don't listen to this kind of music can relate and appreciate wihout being lost.
  6. Great movie saw it tonight, my favourite for the Oscars, both Rourke and Tomei deserve awards for their quite physical performance. Saw last night Benjamin Button, what a world of difference between those two movies one is a slick Hollywoodian almost kid story while the other one is real drama without artificial cuteness, i can to the latter way more. Also, why is it that movie makers are able to do realistical wrestling scenes but are shit when doing boxing scenes, andi am not just talking Rocky, all the boxing scenes in Million dollar baby were awful.

  17. No way!!! You made that up, didn't you? To be honest, i'm not that suprised by the result, but the ease he did it. On my card Margo never won a round. They tend to put too much stock on the last fight of a fighter instead of looking at the overall set skills and how they match up, the good ole styles makes fights. Margo fights in a predictable pattern, goes forward throws often wide punches, cares little about receiving anything in return but puts enough pressure that the opponents usually wears out In a weird way the fight with Cotto gave a blueprint of what you should do and what you shouldn't do against the Mexican granted you have some assets like great handspeed, power, stamina and lateral movement, which at this point rules out 99 % of opponents. What Cotto lacked was the slickness to avoid getting caught clean. Plus trading with him in the ropes was giving Margarito what he wanted. Mosley avoided these traps. He was the one dictating when and where they would trade. Mostly in the center of the ring. Anyway still an impressive acheivement by Mosley who at thirty-seven still looks fresh as a rose. By the way , i learned that he was divorcing from his beautiful wife Jin, wonder if she digs jazz geeks.
  18. Just watched Antonio Margarito getting the shit beaten out of him by Shane Mosley
  19. I live in a small city that is a suburb of the great city that is Toronto called Montreal and i never had any problem with the service at JazzLoft , au contraire Alan has always took time to answer my queries in an effective fashion and i always was satisfied at 100 % in my business with him. Omly reason i have not bought from him lately is the lamentable condition of the Looney.
